Besan ladoo is an easy and simple sweet recipe to make at home with only four ingredients. Roasting the besan flour with ghee is the only process in making this ladoo.
You can also make besan ladoo in a microwave oven easily in few minutes. Besan flour (gram flour) with homemade ghee together makes a soft and delicious ladoos. These laddoos stay good in a room temperature for up to two weeks.
Ghee is enough for binding the ladoos, but you can also add warm milk. If you add warm milk the besan ladoo will stay good for only 2 – 3 days.
Smart Cooking Tips:
- Roast besan flour in a medium flame to avoid burning the flour. Make sure to roast it until the color changes slightly, it takes 7 – 8 minutes. If you do not roast it properly then the ladoos will taste raw besan flavor.

You can also add chopped nuts and raisins in this ladoo.

If you found difficult to bind the ladoo add extra melted warm ghee or milk for binding the ladoos. If you add milk the laddoos will stay good for only 2 – 3 days.
- If you do not have powdered sugar, grind regular granulated sugar in a mixer or blender until it turns into a fine powder.

I prefer adding freshly grounded cardamoms, you can also add store bought cardamom powder.

You can also reduce the amount of ghee to 3 – 4 tbsp in this recipe. The ladoos will turn out soft and slightly dry as I shown in the picture if you add less amount of ghee.

- 1 cup CHICKPEA FLOUR (BESAN)
- 5 tbsp GHEE
- 2 no CARDAMOM
- 0.50 cup SUGARS POWDERED

In a pan heat 4 tbsp of ghee in a medium flame, add besan flour and roast until the color changes into golden brown. It takes 7- 8 minutes approximately.

Transfer it to a bowl and allow it to cool slightly until it is warm enough for your hand to handle. Add remaining ghee, mix well and shape them into small balls.
