Mango lemonade recipe is a simple summer refresher with only 4 ingredients. It is perfect for summer gatherings and kids playdate.

I am really not a big fan of lemonades but this mango lemonade is my favorite and I loved it. This mango lemonade tastes sweet and mildly tart loaded with a flavor and goodness of mango. If you love mango you should try this mango lemonade.

Mango Peach Lemonade

Adding peach to this mango lemonade adds a wonderful flavor and unique taste to the lemonade. You can adjust adding the mango and peaches according to your taste.

I personally prefer good mango taste in my lemonade and less peach taste, so I add an extra amount of mango compared to peach.

If you prefer more peach taste compared to the mango taste, you can add more peach and less amount of mango to the lemonade.

Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Refresher

I love mango dragonfruit lemonade refresher from Starbucks. Dragonfruit adds a nice taste and beautiful pink color to the lemonade.

Frozen dragonfruit is available all throughout the year at many grocery stores in the frozen section. It works well for this mango dragonfruit lemonade refresher. Starbucks uses freeze dried dragon fruit in their drink.

This mango lemonade recipe includes only 4 basic ingredients that are available all through the year.

Mango Chunks: I used frozen organic mango chunks in this recipe. You can use fresh mango chunks too.

Lemon Juice: I used fresh lemon juice if you are adding concentrate lemon juice add less amount of juice.

Sugar: Add sugar according to your taste and depending on the sweetness of the mango. Honey works well for this recipe too!

Ice Cold Water: Add water as per your desired consistency.

If you love mangoes and wanted to try more recipes using mangoes. Check out my favorite mango recipes, Mango Milkshake, Mango Lassi, Mango Ice Cream, and Mango Coconut Burfi.

10 Amazing Ways to use Appe Pan

Paniyaram pan is also known as Appe pan in some demographics and Aebleskiver pan in other places.

However, since I am from south india I am going to share some of the hybrid creative recipes I created using this pan.

For people who have never heard of this pan here is the Amazon listing you can buy from.

I recommend cast iron paniyaram pan with lid (which I use) so we can make all the below amazing recipes easily.

Ideally this is called Paniyaram pan but it is used to make many other food recipes. I am going to share those new recipes I tried using this pan today.

To start with, I took all the my favorite deep fried snacks and tried using the Paniyaram pan. The snacks turned out great and tasted little better than the deep fried ones(maybe I am biased), more importantly I dont have the guilt of having too much fried food.

This appe/aebleskiver/appe pan is super easy to cook with it takes less amount of oil and the mold makes it easy to create finger food.

1. Masala (Loaded) Egg Omelette

masala omelette

Ofcourse I have to start with egg. Who doesnt like eggs? especially if it is loaded with flavours and spice and if it can come in bite sizes. Deadly combination I bet.

This is similar to the spicy mexican omelette recipe but my version of it. When it comes to egg you can try adding whatever you like and you can never go wrong. However, there is always a better version of the recipe.

The Masala omelet is I created is simple, soft, fluffy and infused with flavors from Indian spices. If you are skeptical about the Indian spices, try one by one and pick the ones that you can handle.

I used only some basic spices especially green ones so you should be good to try it.

Using our appe/paniyaram pan it is easy to make these eggs in few minutes so give it a try in small batches and adjust as you get closer to your taste. But do give my recipe a try first, everyone who tried it liked it a lot.

You can serve masala omelet as a snack, breakfast, kids lunch, appetizer or a side dish.

One tip though, make sure you serve it hot. I have seen it become bit moist as it cools down.

Check out the recipe masala egg omelette.

2. Homemade Falafel

falafel in appe pan

Falafel is a crunchy deep fried Mediterranean dish with chickpeas, garlic and fresh herbs.

Making Falafel at home couldnt be easier than this. With the pan in place all you need is a batter.

You can make a healthier version of falafel in the paniyaram pan without deep frying.

Enjoy the healthy and tasty falafel without indulging the fat from oil.

Check out the falafel recipe I made using Paniyaram Pan.

3. Boiled Egg Bonda

Egg Bonda in Appe Pan

Most of us are always looking for best hard boiled egg recipes all the time. Here is a creative boiled egg recipe that is really delicious.

Traditionally Egg bonda is a delicious deep fried snack with boiled egg and chickpea flour batter.

With our Paniyaram pan we can make this protein-packed egg bonda healthy without deep frying.

You can serve egg bonda as a snack or appetizer.

Check out the recipe for egg bonda using paniyaram pan.

4. Sweet Banana Paniyaram (Highly recommended)

banana paniyaram

If you are into Banana based food, this is a must try.

I usually make this anytime we have overripe bananas.

Sweet banana paniyaram was originally invented in South Indian but overtime it has taken many versions and this is my unique version of easy overripe banana recipe that uses less ingredients like overripe banana, wheat flour, and coconut.

When it comes to using overripe bananas people choose baking like muffins or breads but I suggest this no bake banana recipe just to keep it super simple for a quick evening tea time snack.

My son goes crazy on this recipe. I urge you to make this if you have kids at home. It is an excellent snack for the kids.

This sweet, soft and spongy paniyarams are easy and simple to make in just a few minutes.

Check out the recipe for sweet banana paniyaram.

5. Original Kuzhi Paniyaram (Guntu Ponganalu)

kuzhi paniyaram

This recipe is probably a old recipe in south india, very popular and most of the people from southern part would have tried it as a childwood snack.

Guntu ponganalu is a savory paniyaram recipe with leftover idli batter. Sour idli batte flavored with chopped onion, green chiles, coriander leaves and cooked in the paniyaram pan. You can serve guntu ponganalu as a snack or breakfast.

Check out the recipe for kuzhi paniyaram.

6. Potato/Aloo Bonda (Batata Vada)

Aloo bonda in paniyaram pan

Potato is another popular ingredient to make delicious snack recipes (french fries anyone?).

Aloo mean potato in Hindi. Aloo bonda is a popular Indian snack, mashed potato balls dipped in the chickpea flour batter and deep fried.

Once again I created this twist to make it with the Paniyaram pan, guess what? this one tasted amazing as well.

You can make guilt-free aloo bondas using the paniyaram pan.

Check out the recipe for aloo bonda.

7. Baati

baati

Baati is a popular Rajasthani dish with wheat flour, sooji, and ghee. Traditionally, it is baked in a tandoori oven. I tried cooking baatis in the paniyaram pan over a low heat and turned yummy just like the baked ones.

Check out the recipe for baati.

8. Medu Vada

medu vada

Medu vada is a deep fried snack with urad dal. Enjoy the guilt-free and tasty medu vadas using the Paniyaram pan

Check out the recipe for medu vada.

9. Instant and Healthy Oats Paniyaram

oats paniyaram

Oats Paniyaram is a healthy and instant Paniyaram recipe with oats. Kids would love these tasty oats Paniyaram.

Check out the recipe for oats Paniyaram.

10. Unniappam

unniappam

Unniappam is a delicious sweet with banana, rice flour, jaggery, and ghee. You can serve unniappam as a snack or dessert. Kids would love this sweet and crispy ghee flavored unniappams.

Check out the recipe for unniappam.

Grocery delivery services are so convenient and time saving especially during this COVID 19 pandemic. Signup in the grocery delivery services, order the products online, and someone will do grocery shopping for yourself and deliver to your doorstep.

However, during this Covid 19 pandemic, it is hard to find slots for the same-day delivery option but you can shop a few days ahead online and place an order on the waiting list.

Here are the 9 popular grocery delivery services that are available in almost all cities in the USA.

Instacart

Delivery is available from a variety of grocery stores in your area, including drug stores, pet supply stores and, in some areas, liquor stores.

Instacart is available in all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C. Check out the full list of locations.

Instacart’s rundown of available stores in your area includes notes on each retailer’s pricing policy. While most locations offer “everyday store prices,” others make it clear that the convenience of Instacart means you’ll pay higher prices than you would in stores.

Membership isn’t required to use the service, but if you’d rather skip the delivery fee every time you place an order, you can sign up for Express service. In exchange for a fee of $99 per year or $9.99 per month, you’ll get free delivery for every order over $35. Express service also exempts you from peak pricing when Instacart is busy.

Delivery costs between $5.99 and $7.99 per order for nonmembers. Orders under $35 cost more. If you want your order in an hour, that adds up too. Tipping is permitted.

Instacart doesn’t honor sale prices in stores or manufacturer’s coupons. Instead, it offers special promotions you’ll see when you log in to your account. Once you order the required amount or type of product, the discount automatically applies to your order.

Shipt

Shipt delivers from a variety of grocery stores. Liquor delivery is also available in some locations. Shipt is available throughout the U.S.

Shipt prices are slightly higher than if you had taken the trip yourself. “Our members can expect to pay about $5 more using Shipt than they would on a $35 order purchased in the store themselves,” the company’s website explains.

Shipt charges you $99 annually or $14 per month for unlimited free delivery.

Members must spend at least $35 to get free delivery. If your order is less than that, you have to pay a $7 delivery fee. You could also be charged $7 for alcohol purchases. Tips are permitted.

Thrive Market

Thrive Market curate the world’s best organic, non-GMO, non-toxic, and sustainable brands. Touting wholesale prices that save you 25-50 percent off retail prices, their direct buying strategy brings you fresh, quality products for less. Members earn wholesale prices every day and save an average of $30 on each order

Customers are offered a first 30-day trial to test the membership option and can cancel for any reason within your first 30 days for a full refund

The company is also helping others along the way. For each paid annual membership, the company offers free membership to a low-income family. Thrive market service is available throughout the USA.

Peapod

Items skip the store and go from the Peapod warehouse directly to your home. It’s affiliated with Ahold-Delhaize grocery stores, including Food Lion, Giant, and Stop & Shop. Unattended delivery is available in some areas, so you don’t have to be home when your delivery arrives — Peapod leaves it in an insulated container.

Peapod is not available nationwide. Enter your zip code to see if the service is available in your area.

Peapod offers PodPass, which provides unlimited deliveries for orders of $100 or more at a set price. The rate for 12 months of unlimited delivery is $119 plus tax. There are also three- and six-month subscription options that cost $49 and $69 before tax, respectively. If you pay for PodPass but place an order between $60 and $99.99, you’ll pay for any delivery fees beyond $7.95. Peapod accepts manufacturer’s coupons and doubles them up to 99 cents.

You must order at least $60 worth of groceries to get delivery, which costs $67.95 to $99.95 — the larger your order, the cheaper the delivery. You could pay as little as $2.95 for delivery with certain discounts. Peapod offers delivery discounts if you choose off-peak times. You can schedule delivery for as soon as the next day or up to two weeks in advance. Tipping is permitted. Peapod also offers a pickup option in some areas; there are a $30 minimum order and a $2.95 charge for pickup.

Walmart Grocery Pick Up and Delivery

Walmart has two grocery ordering options. In some locations, you can have your order delivered to your doorstep. In many more locations, you can place your order for a pickup window, then get your order delivered to your car at the store. Some stores even allow you to pay for your groceries with an electronic benefit transfer card.

Same-day delivery is available in 46 states. Walmart allows customers to reserve a time and location for pick up in all states except Hawaii.

Delivery and pickup prices are the same as if you had shopped in the store yourself, but there is a $30 minimum for the services.

Although it’s unclear whether there is a regular delivery cost, Walmart does have a program called Delivery Unlimited, which costs $98 per year or $12.95 per month. You can sign up for 15 days of free delivery.

Walmart does not accept coupons for pickup or delivery orders. If you use the Savings Catcher app, it’ll verify that you received the lowest possible price and give you reward dollars.

When it comes to preventing the spread of infectious diseases like COVID-19, nothing beats good old-fashioned hand washing. Hand sanitizer is convenient, on the go method of cleaning your hands though hand sanitizer may not be as effective as washing your hands.

But if water and soap aren’t available, your next best option, according to the CDC (Trusted Source), is to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Make sure to choose the hand sanitizers with a good amount of alcohol, at least 60%. Unless you have a stockpile of store-bought hand sanitizer, you’ll likely have a hard time finding any at a store or online right now. Make sure to choose the hand sanitizers with a good amount of alcohol. Due to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, most retailers can’t keep up with the demand for hand sanitizer.

The good news? All it takes is three ingredients to make your own hand sanitizer at home. Read on to find out how.

What ingredients do you need and where to buy?

Making your own hand sanitizer is easy to do and only requires 3 few ingredients. These ingredients are easily available online now.

  • isopropyl alcohol (99 percent alcohol volume or at least 70% alcohol)
  • aloe vera gel
  • an essential oil, such as tea tree oil or lavender oil or lemon juice

The key to making an effective, germ-busting hand sanitizer is to stick to a 2:1 proportion of alcohol to aloe vera. This keeps the alcohol content around 60 percent. This is the minimum amount needed to kill most germs, according to the CDCTrusted Source.

How do you make your own hand sanitizer at home?

Dr. Rishi Desai, chief medical officer of Osmosis, and a former epidemic intelligence service officer in the division of viral diseases at the CDC says that the hand sanitizer recipe below will kill 99.9 percent of germs after 60 seconds.

Hand sanitizer recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of isopropyl alcohol (99 %)
  • 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel (to help keep your hands smooth and to counteract the harshness of alcohol)
  • 10 drops of essential oil, such as lavender oil, or you can use lemon juice instead

Directions:

  • Pour all ingredients into a bowl.
  • Mix with a spoon and then beat with a whisk to turn the sanitizer into a gel.
  • Pour the ingredients into an empty clean bottle and use it whenever needed.

Notes:

  • Make the hand sanitizer in a clean space. Wipe down countertops with a diluted bleach solution beforehand.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before making the hand sanitizer.
  • To mix, use a clean spoon and whisk. Wash these items thoroughly before using them.
  • Make sure the alcohol used for the hand sanitizer is not diluted.
  • Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until they are well blended.
  • Do not touch the mixture with your hands until it is ready for use.

How to use hand sanitizer

Two things to be aware of when using hand sanitizer is that you need to rub it into your skin until your hands are dry. And, if your hands are greasy or dirty, you should wash them first with soap and water.

With that in mind, here are some tips for using hand sanitizer effectively.

  1. Spray or apply the sanitizer to the palm of one hand.
  2. Thoroughly rub your hands together. Make sure you cover the entire surface of your hands and all your fingers.
  3. Continue rubbing for 30 to 60 seconds or until your hands are dry. It can take at least 60 seconds, and sometimes longer, for hand sanitizer to kill most germs.

Does hand sanitizer kills coronavirus?

According to the CDCTrusted Source, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that meets the alcohol volume requirement can quickly reduce the number of microbes on your hands. It can also help destroy a wide range of disease-causing agents or pathogens on your hands, including the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

However, even the best alcohol-based hand sanitizers have limitations and do not eliminate all types of germs.

According to the CDC, hand sanitizers won’t get rid of potentially harmful chemicals. It’s also not effective at killing the following germs:

  • norovirus
  • cryptosporidium (which causes cryptosporidiosis)
  • clostridium difficile

Also, a hand sanitizer may not work well if your hands are visibly dirty or greasy. This may happen after working with food, doing yard work, gardening, or playing a sport.

If your hands look dirty or slimy, opt for hand washing instead of a hand sanitizer.

Hand washing vs. hand sanitizer

Knowing when it’s best to wash your hands, and when hand sanitizers can be helpful, is key to protecting yourself from the novel coronavirus as well as other illnesses, like the common cold and seasonal flu.

While both serve a purpose, washing your hands with soap and water should always be a priority, according to the CDC. Only use hand sanitizer if you soap and water isn’t available in a given situation.

It’s also important to always wash your hands:

  • after going to the bathroom
  • after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
  • before eating
  • after touching surfaces that could be contaminated

The CDC lists specific instructionsTrusted Source on the most effective way to wash your hands. This is what they recommend:

  1. Always use clean, running water. (It can be warm or cold.)
  2. Wet your hands first, then turn the water off, and lather your hands with soap.
  3. Rub your hands together with the soap for at least 20 seconds. Make sure to scrub the back of your hands, between your fingers and under your nails.
  4. Turn the water on and rinse your hands. Use a clean towel or air dry.

The bottom line

Hand sanitizer is a handy on-the-go way to help prevent the spread of germs when soap and water isn’t available. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers can help keep you safe and reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus.

If you are having a hard time finding hand sanitizer at your local stores, you can take steps to make your own. You only need a few ingredients, such as rubbing alcohol, aloe vera gel, and an essential oil or lemon juice.

Although hand sanitizers can be an effective way of getting rid of germs, health authorities still recommend hand washing whenever possible to keep your hands free of disease-causing viruses and other germs.

Shrimp coconut curry is a quick and flavorful side in just 30 minutes. Coconut milk adds a nice flavor and creamy texture to the curry, this curry pairs well with white rice, cauliflower rice, and quinoa.

I born and brought up in a town with lots of coconut trees around. Coconut oil, coconut milk, and fresh shredded coconut are the basic ingredients in everyday cooking at our home. My mom adds grounded coconut paste or coconut milk in curries, coconut gives a nice flavor and enhances the taste of the spices.

Coconut milk is a great substitute for the heavy cream for the vegan and plant-based diet. It gives an equally creamy texture to the dishes just like the heavy cream with a hint of coconut flavor and with a bonus of amazing coconut milk health benefits.

This coconut shrimp curry is my family’s favorite. The aroma and flavor of curry powder, mildly sweet and nutty flavor of coconut milk, and perfectly cooked shrimp served with white rice for a delicious meal and filling meal.

Easy to prepare in the saucepan, no special kitchen gadgets needed for this recipe. The ingredients used in this curry are basic that you could find in many grocery stores.

Coconut Milk – I recommend using full-fat coconut milk in this recipe for a creamy texture.

Shrimp – I used medium-sized raw, peeled and deveined shrimp in this curry. Chicken, Boiled Eggs, and Potato can also be added in this curry.

Curry Powder – You can find curry powder in many grocery stores in the spices Aisle. It is also available on Amazon as well.

Spices – Marinating the shrimp with spices gives a nice flavor to the shrimp. Adjust adding spices according to your taste.

Health Benefits of Coconut Milk:

Coconut milk includes amazing health benefits though it is higher in the fat content. Consuming coconut milk in moderate helps to promote healthy hair and skin. Regular intake of coconut milk helps to boost the immune system.

According to a 2017 study featured in Cell Death Discovery, the lauric acid in coconut milk may induce cancer cell death and suppress tumor growth. The healthy saturated fat in coconut milk promotes cardiovascular health.

Coconut milk is easy to include in the diet. Coconut milk chia pudding is my favorite breakfast with the coconut milk.

Make money taking surveys are one of the easiest and simple ways to make money online. It does not require learning, skils, time commitment or effort. Before starting I just wanted to tell you that we do not make lots of money by taking surveys. I make only $100 – $150 per month!!

make money taking survey

I love doing online surveys, the reasons are, signing up for the survey sites are free, it is all about sharing your personal voices and ideas, no time commitment and do not need to think a lot.

I don’t block time specifically for taking surveys!! I just take surveys while watching movies, waiting in the airport or bus station, talking on the phone with family members, when bored and not interested to do anything.

Here are the steps to make money taking surveys,

Step 1: Signup to all the below survey websites (every single one of them)

Step 2: Complete surveys or tasks

Step 3: Repeat this every day

Step 4: Get Paid

These sites are the survey and market research companies, they basically collect information about market trends and report to government, companies, and research institutions for them to serve the public better.

Often these surveys are super short, which takes about 5-10 mins to complete and get paid. Some sites start with cents and then increase the bounty as they know more about your patterns. The more you respond the better the quality of the opportunity.

Be honest with the answers every time single time that gives you the opportunity for more surveys.

Keep in mind the payout for survey various person to person and more you take the payout gets better.

Each survey companies work differently and there are tons on the internet. But the ones I listed here are reliable and could worth your time.

Respondent

Respondent is a cool service that facilitates consumer research studies online and in-person — with an average payout of $100 an hour!

Once you create your account, you’ll be able to browse all the open studies you might qualify for. The research brief will tell you the types of people the company is looking to connect with, along with your time commitment and pay rate.

If it looks like a fit, answer the brief screener questionnaire to throw your hat in the ring. I just finished one pre-survey and it gave me a match score of 91%, so I imagine if the company can’t find anyone better-qualified, I’ll get a call.

The respondent will also show you which studies are “oversubscribed,” meaning they have more willing participants than they need, so you know not to waste your time applying for those.

The company takes a 5% processing fee, but the rest of the funds you earn will hit your PayPal account within 8-10 days of your study.

Survey Junkie:

Survey Junkie is my favorite and this is the first money I made by taking surveys online!! They provide short and bigger surveys as well. For 1000 points that pay you $10. I made that first 1000 points in fewer days. It is reliable and provides you with simple surveys.

InboxDollars:

InboxDollars pays members to sign up, referring friends, and taking surveys. Sometimes they pay for signing up for free on different websites and trying out products. New users also receive $5 just for just joining.

Panda Research

Sign up for free on Panda Research survey site, Complete surveys and get paid through PayPal.

SwagBucks

You can sign up for Swagbucks and start earning rewards, cash back in the purchase you make online, and points for completing offers.

OpinionInn

House of Opinion — Where opinions pay…With OpinionInn, users earn money by completing surveys. Each survey will let users earn money which gets credited to their OpinionInn account. They can redeem the money through PayPal once they reach the minimum redeem limit of $25.

MyPoints – Earn Points for Surveys

With MyPoints you can get free gift cards or PayPal cash for taking polls, answering surveys and so much more.

This chicken avocado wrap is a filling and low-carb meal, perfect for the weeknight dinner in just a few minutes. Tender and Flavorful Tyson® Blackened Chicken Strips, avocado, fresh onion, and tomato together make a delicious meal.

Chicken Avocado Wrap Video:

Easy Low-Carb Meal:

Are you following a low-carb diet but no time to cook at home? This chicken avocado wrap is just for you!! Staying on a low-carb diet can be challenging since many fast food restaurants don’t carry low-carb menu options.

After a long tiring day at work, cooking dinner at home is not easy!! Being a mommy, I prefer to keep our weeknight dinner simple so I can focus on my son’s homework and after school classes. Stocking up on ready to make dishes are a great idea that help us skip eating out and save us a lot of time and money.

I found Tyson® Blackened Chicken Strips at Meijer, in the frozen chicken aisle. These chicken strips have no added breading and are made with 100% real, simple, and natural ingredients and my favorite thing is that the chicken is raised with no antibiotics, ever.

Personally I love the flavor of these Tyson® Blackened Chicken Strips and the instructions on the package are simple to follow. These chicken strips are pre-cooked, so you just heat up the Chicken Strips according to the package directions and it is ready to add to your salad or sandwich for a filling and delicious meal.

Chicken Avocado Bacon Wrap:

You can go wild in your creativity in this recipe. Bacon adds a nice flavor and taste to the wrap. My husband prefers not adding tomatoes in his wrap or sandwich so I skipped adding tomatoes to the wrap for him. My son Aldrich doesn’t like lettuce so I just used a tortilla for the wrap and cream cheese spread instead of yogurt cilantro sauce. Any sauce like mayonnaise, ranch, sour cream works well for this wrap.

Sponsored posts are my favorite way of making money in blogging. You don’t need to spend a penny out of pocket to be an online influencer and promote their products. All you need is a traffic flowing blog that doesn’t mean your blog needs millions of visitors or followers.

If you are a beginner in blogging, still you can make at least $1000 per month from sponsored partnerships. I started blogging in 2015 and I got paid $100 for the first time from sponsor partnership within a few weeks. That was the first money I made from my blog 🙂 At that time my blog’s pageviews were not even 15,000. As my blog grows my earning potential in sponsorship posts also growing each year. Now I am getting paid a minimum of $250 – $500 per sponsor post.

Influencer Marketing is Growing!!

The good news is that Influencer marketing is trending now. Lots of brands are promoting their products through online influencers, such as bloggers. Nowadays with all the technologies and social media becoming an online influencer is quite easy. Start a blog, create good quality and useful content that is useful for others and promote the content by sharing in social media groups to drive traffic and engagement to your content.

There are lots of media now online to share your content that reaches thousands of people without spending lots of money on marketing. Though it won’t happen in a day or two it takes at least a minimum of 3 – 6 months to bring followers to your blog. Check out here for the tips to drive traffic to your blog. I penned down my experience on how I rapidly increased my traffic from 0 – 275k in just 5 months.

What is Sponsored Partnership?

The sponsored partnership is promoting a product or brand on your blog and getting paid. You get to talk about a brand or product, share details on how to use the product and where to purchase the product and get paid to do it.

Below are a few websites that I am getting sponsorship opportunities and recommend to you as well:

Linqia

Social Fabric

Pollinate

Find Your Influence

Clever

Tap In Influence

Acorn Influence

Soapbox Influence

IZEA

Sign up in these websites, create a profile, connect your social media networks and start applying for the opportunities. These are only a few websites there are a lot more websites in the online.

https://missmillmag.com/blogging-money-update/ref/9/

Sign up here in this blogging money update and they will send you lots of sponsorship opportunities, payouts ranging from $65 to $5000 to your inbox, three times a week. It is worth signing up!!

Reach out to brands

You can reach out to the brands through email or facebook messenger to promote their products. This method worked well for me. Reach out to the companies or products that fit in your niche, write a brief email with your profile, sample of your work and the ideas you have to promote their brand. Send an email and they would reply back to you within 2 – 3 business days. If not follow up with them or send a message on facebook messenger. Facebook messenger worked well for me so far!!

This is a sponsored post which I partnered with Zavor.  However, all opinions are mine alone.

This Thai curry soup is perfect for the weeknight dinner, loaded with veggies, filling and satisfying meal, and easy to prepare in just 30 minutes.

Zavor LUX Edge Multi-Cooker

I prefer healthy home-cooked meals for my family. When it comes to reality, cooking after work is often hectic and ended up eating the greasy fast foods.

I found this Zavor Lux Edge Multi-Cooker that comes with lots of cooking options like steam, saute/brown, pressure cooking, slow cooking, yogurt maker, rice, soup, pot roast, chili, desserts, and oats. All of these options in one appliance, it has 16 cooking functions and 4 digits LED display.

Isn’t it sound cool?! You do not need to own separate cooking appliances for a different type of cooking.

Click the link to find out more on Amazon.

My favorite part about this cooker is a slow cook option. My family love curries and soups I just dump all of the ingredients in the Zavor Multi-cooker before stepping out to work, set the timer and by the time I come back home from work this bad boy does his fantastic job without making a fuss. I am glad that I have this multi-cooker before fall, it is much needed for a fall and cold winter months!! Who doesn’t love to have a warm meal for dinner during cold winter nights?!

My other favorite part is the RICE option. My kid loves fried rice I make it often for his lunch box. This Zavor multi-cooker takes only 10 minutes to cook the white rice and the texture of the rice turns out perfect, not mushy or grainy.

Zavor LUX Edge Multi-Cooker

How to make Thai curry soup vegan?

You can make Thai curry soup vegan easily, vegan red curry paste is available in amazon now. It is similarly fragrant and flavorful to the traditional red curry paste but with a slight difference in the salty taste. You could even make fresh red curry paste at home, it is a blend of shallots, red chilies, kefir, spices, and herbs.

Traditionally, Thai curry is made by bone broth and you can replace it by veg broth. There must be slight variations in the taste but not much. Using thick, full-fat coconut milk makes a perfect creamy soup. Check out the similar type of noodles recipe with red curry paste here.

Keto-friendly Thai curry soup?

Make this soup keto-friendly by using the zoodles (zucchini spirals) instead of rice noodles. Zoodles are low in carb, loaded with Vitamins and tastes subtle that is a great alternative for the rice and flour-based noodles. Choose keto-friendly veggies like green beans, broccoli, and cabbage in this recipe.

You can even add proteins like thinly sliced chicken pieces, boiled eggs, and shrimp in this soup. If you are using chicken or shrimp, add them after sauteing the red curry paste and cook until the chicken or shrimp color changes and gets firm outside.

Equipment

  • Zavor Lux Edge Multi-Cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Thai Red Curry Paste
  • 8 oz Thai Rice Noodles
  • 2 cups Chopped Veggies (Cabbage, Beans, Carrot and Bell Pepper)
  • 33.8 ml Bone or Chicken or Veg Broth
  • 1 can Coconut Milk
  • 1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Minced

Instructions

  • Soak rice noodles in water for 2 hours before start cooking or follow the package directions.
  • In a multi-cooker, press saute mode, heat oil, add minced ginger and garlic and saute until nice aroma comes out. Add red curry paste saute for 20 – 30 seconds.
  • Add mixed veggies and saute for 2 minutes. Add broth, coconut milk, rice noodles and place the lid (I didn't add salt in this soup because the sodium in the broth is enough for my taste bud, you can add if it is less for you).
  • Choose soup option and slow cook for 30 minutes. Garnish with a lime wedge, cilantro and serve.

Notes

Make sure to taste the soup before adding salt. The sodium in the broth is just enough for my taste bud, so I didn’t add salt.
Add veggies of your choice.
You can add sliced chicken and shrimp as well in this soup.

Many might not realize but we do sell physical products on this blog. Selling products on your blog is one of the easy ways to make money quickly from your blog.

That too without buying inventory or creating your own products. This method is called dropshipping

In this post, I am going to talk about the best way to start a dropshipping business and integrate into your blog.

Dropshipping is the most popular businesses model. Big eCommerce stores including Amazon and Walmart does this at some level and many other eCommerce businesses only operate based on this model.

What is dropshipping?

Drop shipping is a business model where the retailer (store owner) does not buy and store inventory. Instead, the store owner/manager transfers the order information to the manufacturer, supplier or another retailer to fulfill the order on behalf of the store. The supplier then ships the order directly to the customer.

Drop shipping Business for passive income

How does drop shipping really work for bloggers?

Here are the steps involved in dropshipping.

  1. Blog owner/manager finds a product from a supplier/manufacturer.
  2. Lists the product on the online eCommerce store.
  3. Writes a blog content promoting the product with reviews and your experience using the product.
  4. The visitors buy the product from the blog which completes the checkout in the eCommerce store by paying a retail price.
  5. Blog owner/manager sends that order information including the shipping details to the supplier. Pays the supplier a wholesale or negotiated price.
  6. Upon the receipt of payment the supplier ships the product directly to the customer. Not disclosing the actual price or supplier details.
  7. The customer becomes your loyal customer and you can continue to sell more products from your blog.

It is an easy model and no hands-on type of business.

Most profitable online business for your blog

Drop shipping is one of the most popular and profitable online business model available right now. Especially if it is empowered by a blog.

Look at the Google trends it is continuing to rise over the past few years. Which means more and more people are learning and adapting to this model.

dropshipping most profitable online business

How to find the right vendors and right products?

Good Profit comes from partnering with the right vendor

If you search for drop shipping in Google you get a lot of advice on shipping from overseas and having a partnership with the Chinese manufacturer and so on.

It is a good model to sell a low-cost product that you want to ship worldwide. You can use sites like Aliexpress to find and sell products.

Find profitable products to sell

However, if you are looking for a high priced product for more profit you can find a reliable and local drop shipping vendor instead.

This way it is like having your own inventory management that you have better control over.

To find a local supplier you can use a directory service called Salehoo. I have been using them for 4 years and they have many wholesalers and drop shippers in their directory. Sometimes you would be surprised to see cheaper wholesale cost compared to Chinese suppliers.

salehoo to find products to sell

Click here to get an exclusive offer on Salehoo

Great way to make passive income for bloggers.

I have been doing this dropshipping eCommerce model for over 3 years and I would recommend this to everyone. There is a little effort involved and it could be the perfect side gig that makes some serious money.

Perfect for Bloggers

If you already have a blog then you have an advantage over others, because content marketing is one of the best ways to sell anything online.

Most of the bloggers have affiliated with Amazon and send their visitors to buy products from Amazon for a small commission. Instead of sending them to Amazon, you can sell your products at a higher margin and dropship that product to your customer.

For bloggers, it is a no-brainer since you already have the traffic, just present the product and you make a sale with a good margin.

If you do not have a blog, start one now.

Passive Income

This model works for people who like to earn some passive income on the side.

The drop shipping model takes less time to set up and run so it is ideal for people who have a few additional hours to spend each week.

Better compared to Physical Store Business

Many physical stores are moving online, look at how many physical stores have closed near you in recent years.

The cost of starting is too low to ignore this opportunity. Just set up an eCommerce site in 30 mins using Shopify and start selling your physical inventory online.

Leverage Social media

Most of the bloggers have a popular social media profile. They can use this model to make some money with their social media profiles.

There are easy ways to integrate your social media profile with Shopify and start selling right away.

What do you need to start a Dropshipping with a blog?

Here are the things you need to start this business.

  1. eCommerce store: You need a solid eCommerce platform to run your store. I have been using Shopify and I definitely recommend it.
If you are on a budget then you can setup a Woocommerce store. It is a WordPress plugin and you need to set up a WordPress site to use this plugin. Even though this is an option I still recommend Shopify because it takes away many hassles that come with maintaining a Woocommerce store. (I tried this path and was never able to make it work as I did with Shopify).
  2. Supplier Partners: We need to find a reliable supplier to fulfill our orders and take care of issues that could come with shipping, insurance, customs and maintaining inventory. As I mentioned above use Salehoo to find those suppliers.
  3. Working Products: Success with any business comes only when you have a good product that people really want. Dropshipping model is no different. You need to sell a profitable product that people need.
  4. EIN or Tax id: Many suppliers ask for a tax id to make sure the paperwork is good for them to do business with you. Some retail supplier doesn’t have this requirement but you still need to have it for filing your tax and protecting your business.

Steps to run a Dropshipping Business with your blog

Drop shipping is one of the easiest business models to set up and run.

Here are the 6 easy steps to run a successful dropshipping store.

Niche or Interest

Instead of niche, I would call it an interest/passion. Finding the interest that is close to your blog topic is important. It is easy to promote physical products from your blog.

For example, cooking is a niche but only people who are deeply passionate about cooking might know that defrosting meat is a big issue. We can understand that only when we focus on one niche and learn more from their interest to provide solutions to their real problem.

Just being general or talking in a high level rarely help, so focus on a niche.

Product Selection to sell on your blog

You probably know this already.

Not all types of products sell well online.

Only products that solve a real problem and the products that people understand it, sell well. The product has to be simple and effective for you to sell well.

But, how to find such physical products?

Researching a product is a critical but simple process. All we need to find the products that are already selling well for others.

Start your research with best sellers on Amazon.

find best selling products for dropshipping from amazon

Keep drilling down the categories until you get to the specific product type.

Rather than just looking for cooking, drill down to cookware or even further in some cases.

Then look for the type of products that sell in that subcategory. Mainly look for keywords in those product titles, then use this keyword to find more products around that keyword.

Most likely these are the products that people are searching currently. When you present these products to people who are already searching for it is easy for you to make the sale.

Once you found the product keyword, use the same keyword to search for drop shipping suppliers in Salehoo.

Reach out to 3 -5 suppliers in that list and see who can give you better deals. Pick the one that you see fit and start working with them.

Setup your store

Setting up an e-commerce store takes only 30 minutes, especially, if you use any readymade platform like Shopify.

Basically, they give you everything you need to run a powerful eCommerce store, it is tested by millions of people and store owners.

Once you have the platform ready start listing the products in your store.

The supplier usually gives you the images, description and other details of the product. However, they are generic and most likely everyone is trying to use the same details. So try customizing them to blend with your brand and then list it on your store.

Sometimes you can even ask the supplier to white-label the products with your logo on it. It would be even more powerful when you can sell products with your brand name in it.

Advertise the products effectively

The most important aspect of selling a product is advertising.

Although there are a few ways to sell physical products without spending on ads. I am only going to focus on using ads to sell products because only ads can help you sell products fast.

You will invest some money to make a lot more money quickly, else the free methods are going to take a long time to start showing results.

When you promote your products through ads, you are also going to get a lot more exposure to your blog.

It’s a WIN-WIN.

Use Facebook and Instagram ads

Let’s keep it simple, I had tried all kind of ads from Google shopping ads, Search ads and many 3rd party ad networks. Out of all these I found Facebook ads work best.

I recommend to start with Facebook and then once you are saturated with Facebook ads then add other networks like Google and more.

I also learned that focusing on more than 1 ad network might not work well because of many reasons like the tracking data gets messed up and your budget gets split.

The main reason I recommend Facebook is, it provides a very detailed targeting option.

Like you can target specific people based on their activities, interest, buying pattern, relationship status and even the friends of a person with a specific interest.

Check out a targeting that worked well for us.

If you look closely, I am targetting only people who are engaged shoppers and avoiding all the people who only browse Facebook. On top of that, I am narrowing people who like blogs with a specific interest.

Facebook then gave me the potential estimated daily reach. This audience brought 2 -4 sales every day because it was targeted well.

facebook ad targeting for dropshipping

Facebook also provides many other targeting options that are not available on other platforms. You can also upload a list of your customer or people who visited your site and ask Facebook to find similar people.

The possibilities are amazing. It would be hard for other ad platforms to beat this ad network.

Fulfillment – Shipping the products

This is the easy part from drop shipping perspective.

You just have to give the order details to your supplier and he will take care of the rest.

There are 2 ways to do this.

  1. Place Orders
When you start, you would start getting a few orders daily. It is easy to manage these orders by going to the supplier website and placing the orders manually.
Some of the suppliers might have a retail site where you can buy the product as you would normally buy for yourself. But put your customer’s shipping information rather than yours. The order would get fulfilled and shipped to your customers directly.
  2. Bulk extracts
When you get to a point where you have 100’s of orders to fulfill each day. Then the above model might not work, you need an efficient way to pass the order details to your supplier.
Shopify or most e-commerce platforms have this option to export the orders in a CSV(Excel) format.  You export it, then open it in the excel or google sheets and remove all the other details like the price they paid for and other details that are not required for the supplier.
Send this updated sheet to your supplier and ask them to fulfill the orders in bulk.

Customer service

You might have heard that customer service is the heart of any business. People like to be treated well and when they are happy with the service, they keep coming back to you for more.

But that shouldn’t scare you. It is easier than you can think. Since your customers are also people, most of them are very reasonable and understanding.

Although there will be tough to deal with people, it is a small percentage.

To keep the customer support request to a minimum make sure you have all the information, faq, other terms and policy details in the site are clearly accessible.

Tracking information

Usually, people reach out to know where their product is, it is always a good idea to ship the product or ask the supplier to ship with a tracking number. Give that tracking number promptly to your customers and it takes a lot of hassle out of the support.

Once you provide the tracking information, the customers can check the status of the shipment themselves.

Handling Returns & Refunds

Another most frequent customer service question is satisfaction with the product. Sometimes the product might not match people expectation and they would request for a return and refund.

To minimize it make sure you have the product description clearly written about the product to avoid any surprises.

However, some of the return cases are totally out of our control. In such events, always ask them to return the product to you for you to process the return. This will make sure the customer is not scamming you.

If they return within the refund window specified, always process the refund promptly. Not only it will keep the customer happy but also avoids any chargeback claims.

Chargebacks

The scariest thing for an online business is a chargeback claim. When there is a discrepancy with the payments such as fraudulent transaction, customer complaints to the bank about not receiving the product or conflict between the store owner triggers a chargeback.

Bank or credit card company will put that transaction on chargeback and will request evidence that you shipped the product with a tracking number. If you lose the chargeback bank will charge a high fee on top of refunding the money and the cost that you spend on the product.

Here are a few things you should do to avoid chargebacks.

Prompt communication with the customer – Always respond quickly to the questions or concerns from the customer, so they are not suspicious of you.

The customer is always right – Any discrepancy on the product, shipping or anything the customer says. Just accept it and refund. The cost of negotiating and fighting does not worth the effort.

Be watchful for the fraudulent transactions – Shopify provides many features to detect and report any kind of fraudulent transaction. Always refund those orders without thinking twice. I lost a lot of money initially dealing with the kind of orders.

Is selling physical products a right move for you?

Setting up an eCommerce business is a great idea right now. Not only it is easy to run a store it also gives a ton of flexibility to change products.

A highly overlooked opportunity for bloggers. Instead of sending your visitors to buy from amazon for a little commission, make them your customers for a higher profit.

I can’t stop recommending this business model and I think everyone should have a small store.

Just give it a try for a few months and I am sure it would be a good passive income stream for you.

logo design for food blogs

As you know, there are two kinds of people in the world: the first are those who live to eat, and the second are those who eat to live. But it turns out that there is also a third kind – those who make food more attractive and exciting – designers of the food industry.

Promotion of the Food Business through Blogging

Today, almost every self-respecting food company has a blog. And this is not a surprise since the blog helps to keep constant communication with the audience, i.e. attracts new customers and retains old ones. But what creates the strongest association with your business?

Sure, it’s high-quality logo.  It is developed to facilitate the consumer identification of both the particular food and the brand.

Striking food logo will differentiate your product from the competition and make your business much more memorable. A unique trademark is usually made of a name and symbols, rarely – of a visual image of a particular product. Sometimes manufacturers promote several brands under the same logo, but in this case the focus on the particular products significantly dissimilates. So it would be better to develop the individual logo for each trademark. Yes, the price for such work will be higher, but the benefits will overcome the costs.

To develop a logo, you have to work in two directions:

  • Firstly, try to find the most important advantage over the competitors to show your food products in the best light.
  • Secondly, understand how the logo will be displayed and applied to the label (this refers to the shape, size and font type of the logo). We hope you understand that the same logo must present the both the food blog and the brand since otherwise it not just loses its sense but even harms you.

Also, be sure to determine the content and character of the logo – it could be functional, psychological, social, or spiritual. The logo should reflect the ideology, creed of the product, and the characteristic features of the business (e.g. vitality, elegance, elitism, and so on).

Logo design is costly and time-consuming work. The secret to a successful logo is that the visitor who saw the logo at least once could easily draw it on the paper. That’s why please start the development with a sketch.

Next you need to paint the logo. Most restaurants and cafes logo use standard colors: beige, brown and muted green. Of course, you need to experiment with colors. The more good examples you see, the better.

This selection of logos is not only a portion of inspiration but also an excellent stimulus to start:

As you see, the logos above are all different. Someone intensely play with fonts; someone try to be creative and to associate the image with the name of the restaurant.

The basic concept of creative design is that it should be unique and attractive within the basic style of color and form. Do not forget to consider it when designing a logo for your food blog.

Some Tips on How to Make the Logo Work for Your Brand

Since the appearance of the first fonts and the advent of digital technologies, logo designers are constantly looking for new forms, ideas and ways of their implementation.

Let’s consider the underlying trends that will make your logo more attractive:

A new approach. Businessmen do not like to take risks. Often, they prefer not to experiment and choose something proven, since any gamble could cost them business. Perhaps this is why, until recently, we have seen only static and limited logo.

But there are always designers who want to go beyond the usual. If you have something really valuable in your mind, please try to implement it. It’s better to fail than to stay away and regret that you’ve not even tried.

Avoid custom fonts. Designers have long honed their skills and achieved certain heights in creating beautiful and geometrically correct fonts. With the advent of the digital age, there were a lot of various tools and techniques for creating fonts, so the traditional rules have lost their relevance.

Of course, many of the classic fonts (for example, Helvetica) are still widely used, but even the old school designers more and more often create original fonts.

Dynamic logos and logos series. The designers and their customers are constantly looking for new ways to make their logos even better. If you see the same logo year after year, you’ll finally find it annoying. To avoid such congestion, create a dynamically modified logo like Google’s one. Series of logos gaining huge popularity since they add dynamism and freshness both to your blog and brand.

Besides, a series of logos have one more purpose: you’ll better understand what kind of graphic design you need, which will finally result in the concept of the logo that works.

  1. Be simple and honest. In 2016, designers are honest as never. Consumers choose a company beyond which there are real people. That is why it makes sense to a simple logo like pencil drawing and stamp. This way you’ll establish an individual relationship with the customer, creating a sense of personal contact with the company.
  2. Use text. With the emergence of new companies and redesigns of old ones, customers sometimes lose the connection between companies and their logos. The text logo will increase your awareness.
  3. Lower-case letters. Until recently, most text logos were made just of capital letters. Uppercase had been considered as more solid and impressive. But times have changed, and today you can succeed with lower-case letters since they create an easy and attractive image.
  4. Understanding of the printing process. You’ll have to familiarize with the printing process and make the necessary changes in the logo. Spot colors look effective on the paper.
  5. The well-thought concept. The time has come when you need to think about the meaning of the proposed design, especially at the level of the concept. Unambiguous meaning along with the simple and understandable design is a key to success.
Creating a logo

Creating a logo for the food industry is a specific but a very interesting challenge. Consider both traditional and modern techniques. Use of negative space, vintage style, flat design, etc. – all these and much more tools is at your disposal. But the best and the unique instrument is your imagination. So please use it to the fullest!

how to choose and design best wordpress theme for blog?

Either you are new to blogging, or you have some experience in blogging. Choosing the best WordPress theme for your food blog is always a challenge.

You always want to improve the design to make the blog look better than before.

This detailed post is going to teach you how to get the best-looking blog. The topics covered are useful for both WordPress and non-WordPress themes. However, I am going to use WordPress themes to show you how to do it.

Now let’s get to work and make your blog unique and design it to show your personality.

The WOW FACTOR – Themes

You know people often judge a book by its cover. It’s true in most cases, the first impression of anything is what sticks in people mind for a long time.

And nowadays even search engines value this factor to rank a blog higher. They think only a good looking blog could help users to have a better experience. A blog with good user experience is considered to be a better source than the one which does not.

WordPress Default Theme

The WordPress default look is functional but not that great. It is a base bone engine that does nothing but shows your content. To make it fully functional and look great.

You need to install a theme.

Free theme vs. Premium theme.

There are so many themes available in the market, it could be overwhelming to find the right theme. There are 2 extremes in this market a free theme and expensive premium theme. Often times it is difficult to differentiate between a well displayed free theme vs. a similar looking premium theme.

Here are the tips to find the perfect theme for your blog.

  1. Features – One thing you will immediately notice is the features, most of the popular premium themes come with a large set of features. You might not use all of them right of the bat.
However, you will eventually need more than you thought you need. Usually, they also keep adding more features as they see the demand in the market.
  2.  Support – Next big thing is support, the technology landscape is constantly evolving. Every day things are changing and the stuff worked today might not work the next day. Therefore, you need solid support to help keep up with these updates.
Also, as I mentioned earlier, we also need the theme to be updated with latest features often. You don’t want to be left behind while your competition is attracting more reader with their gorgeous design.
  3. Well-Structured – This is not visible from the outside. However, if you dig deeper into the theme, you can see how the theme is structured. The layouts and plugins work really well if the theme is well structured. Otherwise, it is going to be a nightmare if you want to add some good widget or plugin in your blog.
This also contributes to the performance of your theme, thus improving the user experience on your site.
  4. SEO – A good structure theme is also going to have SEO benefits. It is easy for the search engine crawlers to navigate your site and index them.
The premium themes also support the HTML tags that are required for SEO.
Instead, of you trying to figure out the right plugins and tags, they come with already embedded ones. This helps you to jump-start your blogging without worrying about all these.
  5. Ads – Many free themes will come with embedded links, usually, these links are encrypted and added to the footer of your theme. You like it or not the ads are there, this means that all your pages are linking to a non-relevant source. A big no from a search engine perspective. Some themes even have ads displayed on your site. It could be small or probably unnoticed, but they are there and could impact the performance of your site and send revenue to the theme owner.
  6. Look and feel – Although sometimes the free theme and paid ones look very close in terms of design. There is a huge difference in the details. The font, color pattern, the layouts, features all are well put together and they complement each other. Many themes look great in the demo, however, when we try to do the same, it never comes out at the same quality.

Free themes are built focusing on the display for people to download, whereas the premium ones are great and produce the same quality result even with your content.

Here are some of the favorite themes that are used by many bloggers.

  1. Elegant Themes– They provide a collection of theme with every purchase so you can have options even after purchasing the themes.
  2. The Genesis Framework– Another popular theme among bloggers, it offers a robust framework for every theme. The foundation helps you to customize the look and feel based on your preference. However, you probably would stick with the default themes. They are gorgeous themselves. Browse their collection to find the right theme that suits you and you can use it readily.
  3. The Thesis Theme– Popular theme among many top bloggers. They are feature-rich and you might find all the features you want. They have great reviews about their themes. It offers a ton of options to customize the look and feel. And they many skins to readily use as well, so you can literally create your own theme out this theme.
  4. StudioPress Themes – These the makers of the Genesis theme and they do have a theme for food bloggers called Foodie Theme. They offer many features tailored to food bloggers.
  5. AvadaI personally like this theme, and I believe they are great for business type websites rather than blogs. They are also the number 1 selling theme on ThemeForest for WordPress. The theme is simple, bright and has many features with the integration of many popular plugins.

Custom design for food blogs

Even with all these ready-made themes and plugins, it could be sometimes difficult to put together a blog which screams “wow.” Often times we end up spending way too much time to figure out a detail or get something right. Design not only takes creativity, but it also requires the technical experience.

If you are not a designer and you if you don’t like the default theme layout, then get someone to help with a custom theme. Or update your existing theme to match your preference.

The cost of hiring someone could be easily justified when you see the result. People and search engine react well for a good design that boosts user experience.

This also helps you build your own brand which looks only like you and no one else.

Tips for designing a gorgeous blog

Logo

The first thing you might have to do is add a logo. It’s easier to create a logo than you think.

Here are few options to create a logo.

  1. Look for a logo design websites – Sites like Designmantic or logomakr offer free logo designs. They have tons of pre-built designs to choose from.
Although they are an excellent option to get a logo quickly, oftentimes they are not unique and great looking. And you have fewer options to customize the logo based on your preference. Alternatively, there are a few premium ones where you can design and pay for it online. These are better than the free ones as they provide more options for customization. However, it doesn’t compare to the custom design logo quality.   For starters, these are great options as you don’t have to break your bank and waste a ton of time designing that perfect logo.
  2. DIY – If you don’t mind playing around the design software then you can easily create a logo quickly. Just write your name and chose the color pattern you are planning to use for your blog. And convert the text into a vector. This works great for starters as well.
  3. Hire a designer – Another option is to hire a designer, go to Fiverr and choose the one with a good rating and order a logo. Usually, they are good and you can get your custom logo for a lot less. Alternatively, you can use 99designs.com for your logo, this is a great site for professional-looking logos. You can order a logo and many designers would bid on it and you can pick the one you liked and pay only for that logo. It’s a bit pricey compared to other options (still not as expensive as hiring a designer) however you will end up getting an amazing logo that you like. When buying a logo make sure you also get the vector file and logo itself is in png format. This format is a transparent image format that could be placed on top of any pages.

Relevant and High-Quality Images

People respond to visuals better than words. Images are powerful to communicate your messages quickly. Good images also help to improve your site’s look.
You know the first impression is the best impression and that sticks with your readers for a long time. It is important to have high-quality images on your site to impress your readers as soon as they land on your site.

Relevancy

The images should also be relevant to your business or blog. It should communicate the message to your audience about the services or product you offer. The more the relevant they are, the better it sticks with your customer.

Poor images

Any images that are not high in quality are poor images. Never look cheap in front of your audience. This goes a long way in building your brand and people trusting you.

The second type of bad images is inappropriate images. Like I said earlier the images have to be closely related to the business else people will get confused and worse they will bounce off.

Good, high-quality images cost you a little bit of money. Ranging anywhere from $1 to $7 depending on your requirement and the quality of the image.

Here are some of the resources to help find your photos.

Paid Photo

These are some great sites which offer a broad range of stock photos. They are affordable and good in quality.

Pro Tip: Go subscribe to the newsletter in these sites and many of them will send out free images on an occasional basis.

FREE PHOTO

  • Unsplash – Good one. They even send out the images in email regularly.
  • Flickr Creative Commons— Check for the conditions before using the pictures, usually you may have to credit the author for using the photo.
  • Wikipedia Commons— The photos are generally free. However, the quality might not be great most of the time.

Social Media and photo sites

Sites like Pinterest, Instagram and many other photos sharing sites. Make sure you let the owner of the site know before using it.

Font Choices

Many of us don’t realize the importance of the font. Fonts make up the sentences and those are what people see to read the content. Having a great font will boost the users engagement, they will be encouraged to read your content.

Bad fonts are disastrous they could significantly harm your blog.

Fortunately, good fonts are easy to find and most of the time they are the standard ones that we use every day. When choosing the right font don’t get creative, a sophisticated cursive writing font might sound good and could look gorgeous but when put together it might look like a mixed art.

Here are some of the guidelines to choose the font:

  1. Keep it simple: Use the plain font, Helvetica, Arial or Georgia are used in most place, so just stick with it. People are already familiar and they will not find it hard to read it.
  2. Stick with the theme: Sometimes your themes comes with a well-chosen font combination. If they have already done the research and you like the way it appears in the demo theme then why to change it.
  3. Font Size: Even if you pick the best font in the world if the size is too small then it’s useless. Select the right size for your blog content and various headings.
  4. Consistency: Define the font and its sizes for the entire theme, not for each page, the entire blog should look and feel the same. If you are copying your content from a different editor, make sure it does not have a different font setup. Some editors will style the content inline and might change the font settings. If you saw great font on some website and you, don’t know what that font is. Then use this tool to identify that font so you can use it in yours as well. http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

In case you are up for getting your own custom fonts, then these resources would probably help.

Web Font Solutions

  • Google Fonts— Free and most likely you will find a great one. I won’t look any further but in case if you are interested. Check the other options.
  • Typekit— Premium Fonts.
  • Fontdeck— Premium Font.
  • exljbris Font Foundry— Good collection of free fonts.
  • veer.com— Good collection of fonts.
  • dafont.com— A big collection of free fonts.

Colors

Even a small variation in the color could create a lot of impact on the design. Unless you are well versed in the colors theory and understand the color combinations, I would not recommend you to play around with it too much.

While picking the theme, make sure the color patterns are good for you. It takes much effort to get a good professional color theme for your website.

There are so many studies on how to use colors and how it impacts users to take certain actions.

This one post one talks about the different colors and the meaning of each for general readers.

Wordpress theme for food blog

At the same time, you should also build a color pattern for your business. The pattern to use for the brand building.

Here is how you do it.

  1. Pick 2 or 3 color combinations: Choose 2 colors of your choice, pick something that works best with each other. Alternatively, you can also use to play around with the color combinations Once you decided the color combinations, fix 2 to 3 base colors and that would be your brand colors.
  2. Neutral backgrounds: Just because you picked a bold color for your brand, you don’t have to start using it everywhere in your blog. The colors need to be subtle even if they are bright colors. Always use dull or white colors for your background, remember the purpose of the background is to help read your content. The human brain works better when there is no distraction in the background.
  3. Logos and headers: The color pattern you choose should be highlighted in the places where you talk about your brand and company. The logo is the best place to use colors. Use the color in newsletters, letterheads and even as a pattern for your navigation bars.
  4. Consistency: Once you pick up the color, use it consistently everywhere you talk about your blog. Never use a different color even if they look great on that occasion. Using the same color pattern consistently will go a long way to building your brand on the web.
  5.   Links, buttons, and highlights: Another opportunity for using the colors is all the small elements in the blog. Links, buttons, and heading highlights are the places that the user would interact with your blog. Use colors in those place, so it sticks with your users.

Your Video

Pictures say a thousand words, and videos mean a thousand pictures. Videos are the most powerful medium to communicate your message. Adding video brings few benefits to your blog.

Clearly communicate your message: Rather than writing a 1000 words document to tell your viewers about your blog, create a short video to explain about your blog and its benefits.

SEO for Food Blogs

Videos do not directly help improve your SEO. However, it keeps your users around for a longer time in the blog, those metrics might help improve your site rankings.

Adding a video to your blog makes your blog look more professional, and enhances user experience.

It is not a bad idea to create a video and post in your blog wherever it’s applicable.

You video doesn’t have to be super professional or thousands of $ production. It could be just a video from your mobile phone featuring you talking about your blog.

If you feel you need an animation video, then use Powtoon or Goanimate for little-animated videos in minutes.

Simple Design

Simple design looks better than a cluttered look. The best-designed blog is fully functional and the navigation flows naturally.

Many people think great design is displaying artistic work on the site, true if you are running an art-related website. Unfortunately, the reality is, having a simple layout with no much distractions is the design that pleases most of your readers.

They come to your blog to get some information and your design should allow them to get to that quickly. Help they self-guide to consume the content without disturbances.

At the same time, the site also should look professional, clean and look great. It leaves a positive impression on your readers.

Choosing a great design is not that difficult, you don’t have to hire a super expensive designer to come up with a good layout. This is where you need to spend some time while deciding a theme for your blog.

Follow these steps to identify your best-designed theme.

  1. Love at first sight: As soon as you land the preview of the theme, did you say wow. You should fall in love with the theme, at first glance, if you don’t, then that theme is not for you. Don’t try to think that your readers would love it or you should get the theme because someone recommends it. If you don’t like the theme, then the chances are your readers won’t like it either.
  2. Ready to ship: Visualize the demo content with your content, and do you see that you need to modify the theme. If the answer is yes, then that’s not your theme. At the same, if you think at least 80% of the theme would work without any modification, then you can still consider the theme. Keep in mind, it is hard to find a theme that fits your exact requirement, even if you find one the chances are they won’t keep up with your demands in future.
  3. Navigation: A good site will not have more than 2 layers of navigation. The important links are visible at the parent level itself. Visualize the structure of your site and how the content will flow and make sure the design captures that. It should be visible to you, and any new visitor should be able to understand and follow the navigations.
  4. Monetization support: You know one day you will start monetizing your blog. You might be thinking of using display ads to monetize your blog. In that case, check if your blog design supports that. There should be placeholders for you to place your ads.
In case you want to sell your own products, then make sure if the theme is extensible and support the e-commerce applications. How much ever you plan, you can never predict the future of your blog, but at least, you should have a clear understanding of your near term goals and make sure the design and theme support that
  5. Links and other external references: In many themes, you will find a small link in the bottom of the page, which says powered by the company built the theme. It might look negligible, but those little links create some impact to your blog.
It could take away some traffic from your blog to the developers website. Moreover, it could also pass on your link juice to the other site, impacting your websites search rankings.

Responsive

Mobile is everything, you will see more traffic will come from mobile devices. So make sure your design and theme is fully responsive and adjusts the size based on the devices. When it comes to mobile, the best design is not just shrinking the size of the page and images but changing the layout to work better on the small screen. Check and make sure the elements overflow, button, and text are still visible and legible to read.

To check the responsiveness use this tool by google and make sure the theme passes this test.

Mobile friendly test

It will immediately let you know if the site is mobile friendly.

Mobile friendly test

Now time to validate the blog Pagespeed test to see if the setup is right and if there are any improvements needed.

Page speed test

Then go back and fix those items if you can. Don’t get caught up in getting to 100%, often the effort it takes to fix those might not be worth. Do whatever you can and if the numbers are bad reach out to the theme developer and ask him to help you.

Conclusion

Look and feel is one of the most critical aspects of a blog. It helps increase your user experience, one of the factors Google uses to rank your blog higher. So make sure you get the design right. Show your personality and build your brand.

If you are following a gluten-free diet and wants to enjoy roti for your dinner, you should try this Metta Gluten-Free Atta Flour. Rotis made with this gluten-free atta flour puffs up just like the roti made with wheat flour and tastes great as well. Easy to knead, roll and make rotis.

This gluten-free flour was created by a mom for his son who was diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity. Undoubtedly we all know that moms create best for their children. Likewise, she prepared this flour for his son initially and later after years of experimentation, she created this flour nutritious, great-tasting and an allergen-friendly option for many people who have gluten issues.

Gluten-Free Atta Flour with Protein:

It is a blend of ancient grains like sorghum, teff, and ground flaxseed, which are rich in protein and nutrition. Metta atta meets FDA gluten-free standards, produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility in the USA, all the ingredients are non-GMO, and it is corn and soy-free.

Metta gluten-free atta is great for preparing chapattis, tortillas, parathas, puris, and samosas as well. Check out these videos for making dough and rotis.

Roti is an ideal meal at many Indian households, even my family loves to eat roti for dinner every day. My husband is an allergen to gluten, so I got to try gluten-free flour for roti. Though lots of gluten-free flour available in the market nowadays we personally like this Metta Gluten-Free Atta Flour at our home.

affiliate marketing for bloggers

Affiliate marketing is one such amazing passive income streams available for everyone. This article is perfect for bloggers who like to start affiliate marketing.

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a simple concept.

You apply to be an affiliate with a business who has a product or service that you can sell behalf them. They provide you with a tracking mechanism either as a link or a code, which you use on your promotion method.

You refer that product to anyone. When someone buys through that link or uses the code. The store knows that you referred the customer and they will pay you a commission for the referral.

affiliate marketing for bloggers - guide for passive income

We refer products all the time, why not get paid for it?

Whenever we have a good/bad experience with a product we always tell someone about it.

Especially when the product is good we strongly recommend that to a friend and pursue them to buy it. Most of the time they end up buying it too.

Imagine every time you referred something and you got paid a commission from that sale. It would start accumulating and quickly it adds up to a lot.

Making it an amazing passive income opportunity for bloggers.

What do you need to get started with Affiliate Marketing for bloggers?

I can’t stress this enough.

“You need a good self-hosted blog”

Guide: How to start a blog?

In order to promote anything online successfully, you need a platform, brand, and a web address.

Don’t let anyone fool you that you can make something without a web address. You might make some sale here and there but it is never sustainable.

Affiliate marketing is no different. You need to treat it like a real business. Create a brand, tell people the story and recommend products that you genuinely like.

As your blog grows and more you promote affiliate offers. Quickly you will see the income flowing in and more than that you have a brand that you build and showcase to others.

You need the right attitude

Building an income stream is a long-term game, not shortcuts or make a quick buck here and there.

They might work for some but we don’t recommend spending time on anything that will not work while you sleep.

Think long-term, build something that will continue to grow and work for you forever.

Persistence

Try until you succeed. The only reason someone ever fails is when that person gives up. Remember, there is always a way to succeed we just have to find it. For some, it might take years but it will happen.

Always persist to succeed.

What are the affiliate networks that you can join?

A good affiliate network should have a few important aspects.

  • Payout method – Learn and understand how the affiliate network would pay your commissions. More importantly, make sure you will be able to accept the supported payment methods.
  • The frequency of payment & Minimum payment – Every affiliate program has a minimum payment limit that you need to reach before they pay you. Make sure you are ok with the frequency of payment. Depending on the product you promote you should aim to receive the payment on a consistent basis. If not either the program terms or the product is not a great fit for you.
  • Reputation – There are many affiliate networks that are not reputable, either they would shut down the offers without notice or there might be problems with the way they track and pay you. Be careful in selecting the affiliate network that is reputable and trustworthy. See the list below for the recommended one.
  • Offers past data to be successful – In order to pick the right product and promote them, you need to know how they worked for others in the past. If a product is not tested and does not have a performance benchmark, you might not know if the product would really work or not and you would be wasting your time and resources.
  • Support – More important is you need support in case you have any issue or questions about the product and offers. Think about it, on a Saturday afternoon a pin went viral and received a huge spike in traffic but the affiliate site is down and no one responded to you. All your efforts are now wasted. Be sure there is a support system in place before signing up.

Recommended Affiliate networks for blogs

There are 2 types of affiliate program types available that you can join.

  1. Product sites: If you are using a product or service online, there is a good chance that they might have an affiliate program. For example, if you like Bose speakers there is an affiliate program for that one too. You can directly search on google to see if there is an affiliate program and you can apply for it. Usually, these programs could be part of an affiliate network. (which we will talk about next)
  2. Affiliate networks: These networks carry affiliate programs from many vendors like Bose (VIGILINK is the network for Bose). They provide a marketplace to manage publishers and advertisers. These networks take care of tracking the commission, paying out and make sure the everyone is in compliance with the legal terms and paperwork.

There are tons of networks available to us. I have listed the top ones that I recommend to get started.

p.s. I recommend to join in only 1 and try to scale within that network. You can join the others if only you find real value in it. The max you can go is 3 networks to get some control around your affiliate marketing promotions. If you keep hopping from one to another you would get distracted and none of your efforts would be fruitful.

Once you get the hang of it then you will be in all the networks to maximize the revenue.

Clickbank

One of the oldest and popular network. They offer a wide range of affiliate products that are well suited for beginners.

Clickbank could be your only affiliate network if you find a product that works for you. It is not difficult to start making $1000 or more in the first month.

They even have a university course to teach you to be successful in being an affiliate. I would highly recommend this program if you are starting out as an affiliate.

Check out the video from the creator of the university.

Shareasale

The next popular one is ShareASale, it is similar to Clickbank with a ton of product offerings.

They also give you all the data required to join an affiliate program and also give you ideas on how to promote to maximize commissions

shareasale affiliate network

Commission Junction

It is another network that you can join and find many brands to promote. It is a great network but I don’t deal with it much because of lack of time.

If you did not find great products in the other network you might find some product offerings on this one.

Amazon Affiliate

Amazon also offers an affiliate program that you can join. It is a great program to join.

Supplement you Blog – The commission from Amazon is not great compared to other affiliate offers but it can supplement your content to offer additional revenue stream.

For example, if you are writing about a topic you can suggest a book related to the subject or a physical product within the post. When someone buys using that link you get paid a commission for the referral.

With Amazon, you can promote everything they offer, including prime, books, audible and other services.

They also offer good tools to enhance your affiliate marketing. Whenever you share a product with a friend you can quickly get the affiliate link and share it. It is easy to use and a must-have the network for your blog.

How to join as an affiliate?

Joining an affiliate is easy. Usually, the affiliate site has easy online signup for most of the popular programs.

However, here are a few things to have it handy.

Tax documents – Often the affiliate network asks for the tax documents to report the tax department. If you are in the USA, you need tax identification numbers such as SSN or EIN. Make sure you talk to your CPA or TAX accountant before sharing your details.

Business Address – Most of the affiliate programs needs your business address to know your location and report tax based on that. They also generate a tax document for you, so you can report them while filing your tax as well.

Website – It is rare to get approved by the affiliate network without a website or blog. Some of the networks even look at the website information such as traffic data, your niche and your promotion methods to see if you fit their terms.

Promotion methods – I have seen most of the affiliate network has some restrictions on a few promotion methods. They will explicitly ask about your promotion methods and will let you know the permitted methods to promote their products. Blog or content marketing is always accepted by almost everyone.

Keep this information handy and you should get approved easily.

Also, make sure you talk to your affiliate manager and clear things if there are questions or concerns. It is also a good idea to build a long-term professional relationship with your affiliate manager because they will offer more resources and suggestions for you to be successful.

What products should I pick?

Picking the right product is critical to affiliate success. Many make the mistake of just signing up for a product that is profitable or looks good to promote.

But remember you are recommending a product to your friend or someone you care about. If you don’t know about the product in detail and if your friend doesn’t like it. You lose your reputation and trust with them.

p.s.Recommend only the products that you know for sure it works.

Choose a theme/Niche

Before you start picking up the product pick up a niche that you are committed for the long term. This is why I recommend starting a blog.

The blog defines your brand and the topic you write about. Based on the knowledge on the subject you recommend the product that you used for your blog and have experience.

This also builds trust with your audience and you can be the testimony for the product.

Create a story for people to understand the value

When you recommend a product you need to explain the value of the product. You can do this by telling your story of how it worked for you and the problems it solved for you.

When people learn your experience automatically they will buy the product to mimic the result you got.

Look carefully at the numbers

Many affiliate networks provide you with the past performance data of that product. They also give you the conversion metrics like earnings per click and conversion percentage on the landing page. This past performance data gives a good benchmark to target for.

affiliate marketing reports to make more money

Most of them also give you information about the right target audience and creative media like images and videos to promote the product.

You need to carefully analyze this number before putting in the effort. Our goal is to find out the EPC Earning per click, which means how much you can make per click.

Also, we need to find the benchmark for each click for that keyword or niche and if it works then you can start setting up the offer.

For example, let’s say the EPC is $0.50 and if it takes $1 to drive traffic to your affiliate link then you won’t make money. Make sure you do the math and have enough room for spending on ads or other promotional methods.

which affiliate product to promote

How do I promote the affiliate?

You have 2 options for this.  I recommend using both options in parallel.

Paid Promotion

Many frown upon the idea of spending money on ads, but remember the fastest way to make significant money is to leverage tools and resources. Ads are a great way to define your audience and reach them quickly.

It also gives you a massive advantage to test your offers quickly. If no one responded to an ad after spending $5-10 then you are not going to waste time on that offer. Move on to the next one and recoupe the money you spend on the previous ad.

Facebook ads: Facebook is the largest social network with all kinds of people in it. The Facebook ads are the most popular method that works for most cases, however, they do restrict certain types of ads and content.

Facebook ads also have a little bit of a learning curve. For beginners, it could overwhelm but once you learn the technique, this is one of the best traffic sources available today.

Start with $1 on ads and learn how it works, then scale as you see results.

Here is a current promotion we are running to even promote a blog post. It would have taken months to get this level of engagement if we did it organically.

facebook ads promotion for affiliate marketing

Google Ads: Google ads platform is the most popular ads network out there. The only challenge is it is highly competitive, the click to your website cost could be expensive and might not get the returns you expect.

However, there are few untapped niches and international markets still lucrative test and see if it works for you. You can look at the Google display network this could work if you know exactly which blogs or website you can target.

Reddit ads: Reddit is a different type of platform, where the communities either love your content or totally hate it. However, the ads on the platform are super cheap and if the content you post helps Redditor’s then you make a ton of sales with it.

Quora ads: Quora is new in this space, the users are mostly professionals. The content-type should resonate with them and you could get a ton of sales from it. Once again not all the niche or topics would work here.

Other advertising networks: There are tons of other ad networks to experiment. However, it is totally going to depend on the content you are working with.

Free Traffic

Everyone likes free traffic but most of the free traffic does not have the quality we expect to convert our offer into sales.

Still, if you put some time to learn and engage with your audience the efforts can be really fruitful. Remember you need to have a blog or website for this strategy to work best.

Here are some of the techniques for getting quality traffic to your website.

Blog Comments: Blog is the place where people learn almost any information from the internet. Most of the people after reading the blog they look down at the comments to see what others are saying about the content. You need to present yourself as an expert in the comments and add some valuable information while dropping your link in it. These comments stay forever and generate traffic for a long time.

Be sure to comment on the fresh post to have an effective promotion. You can do this by going to google and searching for posts within 24 hours.

google search for blog commenting and generating traffic for affiliate marketing for bloggers

Forums: Online Forums is another place where people discuss a topic and get answers. Try to participate in those forums and offer information while adding your link there. Quora is a popular place to answer the questions on relevant topics and add links back to your page.

Content Curation site: There are sites like Scoop it and Alltop that aggregates content from the blog and present it to their visitors. They are a great way to share your blog/RSS link and they will automatically pull the content and share it with their audience.

Youtube: Videos are powerful and it is one of the top sources of information consumption for people. If you can create videos then this is one of the best ways to promote your offer.

Facebook Groups: One of the best ways to generate traffic is through Facebook groups. You will find tons of groups for every single topic. Join a few of them because not every group can drive traffic. Become an active participant and share your blog posts regularly.

Pinterest: I saved the best for last, Pinterest is one of the top organic traffic sources for our eCommerce site and 2nd biggest for our blogs. The best part is we spend a lot less time on it compared to other social media promotions.

Build Sales funnel (Advanced but effective)

Once you get the traffic, the next step is to convert it effectively. Most of the traffic that lands on your site are cold traffic and they don’t know anything about you, so it will be hard for them to trust you and buy from you. You need to warm them up and then convert into sales.

This is the reason you should use a sales funnel.

A sales funnel is a process in which you will lead your visitors through a sequence of steps and teach them about the product and offer them a product for sale at the end.

A typical funnel looks like this.

sales funnel for affiliate marketing using clickbank

First, it starts with a visitor giving you the email address in return for a free offer or product it is called lead capture.

You then warm the lead by providing information about your product or services. Depending on the complexity and cost of the product you send as many emails you think would add value and convince the user to buy from you.

When they are fully warmed up you offer the product at the right time.

If they buy the product from you, then you offer more products that complement the core product to increase the order value.

Bottom line, a good Sales funnel converts better than just sending the traffic directly to a sales page. It does worth the time and resource investment to set up one for your affiliate product promotion as well.

What tools to use to create funnels?

Depending on your technical skills.

Not so tech savvy – You can use tools like Clickfunnel to create funnels. If you are not inclined to building pages, installing code then it is a great product which offers a drag and drop feature to build a high converting funnel.

Tech guys – You have all the options to create your own web pages or WordPressress page builders to create the sequence. It is hard and time-consuming but if you like the fun of playing with technology then go for it.

Autoresponders

It is an automated email marketing process.

You create a sequence of emails and schedule it to send it out to people on a specific time or based on events.

Most of the email marketing software offers this feature to schedule emails. But only a few good ones offer the flexibility and feature set you for you to be successful at it.

How much money can I make passively in this model?

The word passive means different things to different people. Many think that there is a secret strategy that will automatically make money without us doing anything.

But the passive income we refer to is leveraging other people time and resources. For example, you start an eCommerce store you still need to add products, manage ads, fulfill orders and deal with customer services.

The passive income method we recommend in this model is you hire virtual assistants to do all the work for you.

You only have to initially test the strategies and create the instructions to give it to the VA. Once a week you check the reports to see if the business is going on track or if you need to replace the VA with someone better.

Now think about the possibility of how much can you make passively. It is left to how many ideas you can think about, test it and transition to your VA.

Keep in mind you need to invest in virtual assistant (VA) model for this to work and I would recommend starting small. For starters hire VA on the hourly basis first to see how it works initially before totally deligating all the work.

And you should do it only after making $1000 a month consistently.

To make $1000 you can just promote a good affiliate product and from there it is just history.

Conclusion

Affiliate marketing for bloggers is all about leveraging other resources.

  • Other people products
  • Other people’s time
  • Your blog platform, so you get to build assets, grow your audience base and make money from it.

Remember, a million starts with making a dollar first. Start today and share your success story with us.

SEO for food blogs

SEO for Food blogs is the key to be successful in blogging.

Free traffic is the bloodline for food blogs since most of the food bloggers make money from ads and affiliates.

To make a good amount of money from the food blog it is mandatory to drive a ton of traffic to the blogs.

In the online world today, a majority of the traffic comes from search engines. That makes optimizing for the search engine is super important.

The good news is, once the blog is optimized for search engines they start getting perpetual free traffic to the blogs.

Unfortunately, the SEO (search engine optimization) techniques are complex for many of us.

Added to that the SEO rules change often and most of it is hard to implement as well.

You know many of the food bloggers are not technology savvy and they miss the opportunity to get free traffic from Google despite the effort.

So I collected some of the best tips for SEO for food blogs. These tips helped us rank at the top for many blog posts and I thought you would benefit from these tips as well.

What is SEO for food blogs?

Before we jump in, let’s understand the fundamentals of SEO. SEO from the technical perspective is complex to understand and implement.

In my mind, it is.

Search engines are the computer programs that tries to see the website content from a human perspective and the way humans interact with the content.

In order for the programs to accurately mimic human interaction with the content, it needs help from the humans to guide in the right direction.

As bloggers, we put a lot of effort and write many great contents. Still, the content doesn’t get the traffic and engagement it deserves.

With the right optimization, you are telling Google about your content in the language it understands.

Here are the SEO tips for blogs

Start with your competitors

Put your competitors url in the tool like Semrush, which will give you all the keywords and data you need to start working on.

This will save months of effort because you are using the competitor’s data and doing the things that are already working

How to write a title for blog posts for SEO?

Titles weight 50% or more than the content itself. The reason, people click the link and go to the content only if the title is appealing and interesting.

The title should contain some of the following characteristics to make it appealing for people to click.

Trigger curiosity

Your title will almost tell what the content is all about, along with that add some additional information to trigger curiosity. Something like “bread in 5 mins”, people will be curious to know how you can make bread in 5 mins. The curiosity will let people click through and read your content.

At the same time, don’t trick people with some hype in the topic and not explain about it. This will disappoint the users and lose trust in your site.

Ask questions

Use question format as much possible, human brains get engaged quickly when a question is asked. So when a question is asked in the title they would be interested to see the answer in the post.

There are tools like Answer the public which could help you with this.

blog keyword ideas
Blog keyword ideas

Make sure you are finding a related question and answer in detail. Over a period of time, these posts will rank higher in searches.

Add WOW factor

The wow factor always attracts people. It is like I made a cake in the microwave in 5 mins, that triggers the wow factor and you get more clicks.

Use filler keywords

Words like new, free or year trigger the attention immediately. Use these filler keywords appropriately to grab attention.

Length of the title matters

As SEO rules, the title length should not exceed 65 characters. It doesn’t mean that you should use all the characters. People don’t have time to read the lengthy title at the same time they won’t click the link if there is little information. Find the sweet spot for your post and add the title.

Find the sweet spot for your post and add the title.

SEO keywords for blogs

Keywords are the words that you primarily focus on ranking your content. It is basically a label to tell Google what the content is about.

When doing keyword research try to think like the user. If you had to type in the query in google what that would be. Or the same keywords you used to look up for reference to write the post.

Use those keywords as the starting point for your keyword research.

I see many of us use google keyword planner to do keyword research.

We naturally put in the keyword and see there is enough traffic and use that keyword.

This method might have worked 5 or 10 years back, but now we have a ton of competition and gazillion post targeting the same keyword.

Here are some tips to do efficient keyword research and beat the competition

Long-tail keywords

When I started using google to search for information, I used 2 or 3 words to search for information and I got what I needed. Now I need to search specifically for what I need to get the exact information. I am pretty sure that is the case for all of us.

This tells us that the 2 or 3 keywords are almost dead, not many people search that broadly. Even if they do they look for content with specific details to click on it.

Not to mention these broad keywords have a ton of competition.

The solution to this problem is a long-tail keyword. The long tail keyword is an extended keyword. For example, if you want to find a restaurant for dinner. You don’t use “restaurants” as a keyword, rather you would search “restaurants near me for dinner” or “restaurants with a high rating in your location”.

Nowadays the search has become more descriptive so we need to find those long-tail keywords that have less competition.

You can use the tools like ubersuggest to type in your main keyword and get ideas for the long tail.

ubersuggest keyword research

Type the seed keyword and get many combinations of keywords to choose.

long tail keyword for blogs

Here is the short video from ubersuggest on how to use the tool.

Pick the keyword and put it in keyword planner to get the volume information.

Google Autocomplete

On the same lines, you could get these long tail keywords from Google autocomplete. Have you noticed when you start typing something in google it start giving you recommendations?

google autocomplete for keyword research

Those are the recommendations it comes up with based on what people are searching often.
Use those recommendation to find the right keywords.

Suggested keywords

Also if you scroll down the search results in google you would see suggested keywords. It is also recommends based on what people are searching related to that keyword. You can get ideas from there as well.

google related keywords

Branded keywords

These would be some unique keywords you use for your blog. Something like your brand name or some campaign name that you are running and so on. These are called branded keywords.

Use these keywords in your keyword mix. I have seen some bloggers doing this, for example, one blogger used the keyword meatless Monday and post veg recipes every Monday. These types of keywords attract the attention of the user.

It does nothing much for Google but for people, it gives a differentiator. They get curious about that keyword and click on your post. Apparently, they will increase the CTR and rank you higher.

Find untapped keywords for your blog

Many of us look at volume for each keyword we use and think it is directly related. The fact is google not only rank for the specific keyword but for the keyword group as well. Remember the google keyword tool is a suggestion based on past data and it doesn’t mean the future data will be the same.

Use the volume information as guidelines and don’t skip the keywords that have less volume.

These low volume keywords might not be appealing to big brands and advertisers so you will have less competition.

Look for that keyword group and determine if your efforts are worth for that keyword group.

google keyword planner to keyword research for SEO for blogs

Don’t get confused about the competition

This is another mistake I used to do, look at the competition in the keyword planner and avoid keywords that say competition is high.

Later I realized that the competition data is for advertisers. It gives the indication of the ads competition for that keyword.

On the contrary, I started picking keywords that have high keyword competition so that we can make more money out of it. It is an interesting idea that I learned will write on a different post.

Ignore the competition metric and look for keyword groups with high volume.

International keywords

Internation search is becoming more popular because of the increasing adoption of the internet all over the world.

Many of the bloggers write content that is beneficial for all the demographics. Sometimes we write specifically to some demographics, like Thai curry or Italian pasta. When we write something specific to a location find those keywords in the local language and include them in the post. They will have the potential to rank in that locality.

I know many bloggers even translate their blog in multiple languages and post the same content to bring additional traffic.

Links to food blogs

Links are the building blocks for google to understand the relevance of your content and authority.

The length of the URL

Pay more attention to the link structure, according to the research from Brain dean. Shorter links rank higher that lengthy one.

Even if your title is lengthy try to keep your URL keywords short. The sweet spot is said to be 3-5 words in the URL. Only use the main keyword in the URL and not the long-tail version.

URL Length_line

p.s. don’t go and update any of your URLs now if you have already posted, that would cause more damage. This is only for new posts.

Internal links

Always link related blog posts within the post. This will give the indication for Google about the nature of the content. This also increases the weight of the post, since we have more than one content written about that topic.

External links

We can write a separate book about this, as I said this is one of the most important aspects for ranking on google.

Thumb rule is

  1. Link to high authority sites (Sites or blogs bigger than yours) from your posts.
  2. Earn links from high authority sites to your posts.
  3. Gain as much link as possible from other sites on a regular basis.

Links are very important, the more you earn links the better you rank.

Anchor Texts

When linking out or linking in you would use the text to overlay a link on it. These texts are called anchor links.

When you link some content, use the words that describe the content. Instead of saying click here and adding a link to it. Try to describe what you are linking and then add a link to it.

Google understands the relevance better with the right anchor texts.

Submission sites for better SEO for food blogs

One of the easy ways to gain links is by submitting your blog to blog aggregators, directories, and RSS feeders.

These directory sites let you add your blog to their sites and give a link back to you. This not only adds SEO value but also drives a ton of traffic back to you.

Look for quality sites and submit your blog there.

Web 2.0 sites

Addition to submitting to the directory services, also submit your blog to web 2.0 site like Tumblr, blogger, wordpress.com with a link back to you. Don’t forget to mention the origin of the content is from your site to avoid the duplicate content issue.

Social media

This is the obvious one and I believe almost everyone does this in the common social sites. But there are sites that are not popular yet. Try to get into those sites and add links there as well.

Remember it takes a lot of effort to try to automate all these processes. As it is not one-time submission, but continuous effort to rank your content higher.

How long should a blog post be for good SEO for food blogs?

The content length doesn’t matter much as engagements on the post. However, the research shows that in a long run lengthier content ranks better than short ones.

content length for SEO for food blogs

The reason is simple.
More content meaning more information, the more useful it is for people the better it ranks in Google.

Try to expand the content with additional tips and ideas where ever possible.

Don’t try to add content just for the sake it. The word count doesn’t matter much as useful information.

The easy approach is, search in Google for the keyword you’re writing the content. Find the top 5 results and measure the length of the content. When you write the content make sure you write more words than the top lengthy one.

Also, make sure your post has multiple forms of content like images, videos, and reference materials.

Image optimization

For food blog images are really important and I see many bloggers add more than one image per post. The more the image it takes more time to load and slows the page down.

Make sure you use image compression plugins like smush it to optimize the images and keep the size low.

Alt Tags

When adding images don’t forget to add the description and alt tag information. More important add the keyword in the tags.

image search optimization

There is a feature in google where people search for images, and Google shows up the images based on the keywords in the alt tag.

image search SEO for food blogs

Conclusion

SEO is a vast subject and it is hard to master all of it. However, if we know the tips and tricks to tell search engines the value of our content. Search engines are going to reward you with a ton of free traffic.

If you’re looking to lose weight, you’ve more than likely heard of the ketogenic diet at least once or twice.

This new diet that has soared to popularity has been gaining a lot of attention for its healthy ways of assisting weight loss.

Many studies have shown that this particular diet will help to improve your health while also helping you to lose weight.

What is the keto diet?

So what exactly is the keto diet? It’s a diet where you consume a very low amount of carbs and high amount of fat. The low-carb diet has always been popular for people looking to lose weight, but the keto diet gives it that extra kick to get things going.

The amount of fat eaten replaces the low intake of carbs. This puts our bodies into a state called ketosis, which means that our bodies burn fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. This is how it assists in weight loss because your body is burning off all the fat to be used for energy.

Basically, being in ketosis means that our bodies metabolism increases to burn off the necessary fat needed for energy.

There are actually different types of keto diets though, so you’ll be able to choose what’s best for you and most comfortable. Out of the four different diets, these are what you can choose from.

Standard ketogenic diet (SKD)

This diet is very low-carb, moderate amounts of protein, and high-fat. This diet typically consists of 75% fat, 20% protein, and only 5% carbs. As the name states, this is the standard diet that most people use.

Cyclical ketogenic diet (CKD)

The cyclical keto diet involves five consecutive days of the standard keto diet. The other two days consist of high-carb days.

Targeted ketogenic diet (TKD)

This is a great option of the keto diet for people who are active and workout. The targeted keto diet allows you to add carbs around workouts, making sure you get that extra energy that you need to keep yourself going.

High protein ketogenic diet

While this diet is very similar to the standard keto diet, it ups to protein intake instead of letting the fat be so high. The diet consists of 60% fat, 35% fat, and 5% carbs.

The cyclical and targeted keto diets are great for athletes and bodybuilders, as they both assure that you’re still getting a good amount of energy each week for workouts.

How Does Keto Supplements Work?

Ketosis is a condition in which your body burns fat for energy and not for carbs. It’s really hard to obtain ketosis on your own. The Keto supplement for weight loss works by sparkling off temporal ketosis effects in the body.

This produces the fat burning properties necessary to boost your weight loss efforts. Combining this weight loss supplement with proper diet will definitely yield positive results.

It’s time to burst through the nonsense supplements out there and uncover the simple Keto supplements for weight loss that works. Wave aside all the gimmicks and flimflam. Forget about the high protein, low carb combo promises. That’s all garbage. The only weight loss supplement that exclusively targets stubborn, horrible body fat is the keto fast.

Are Keto Supplements Safe?

Reaching ketosis- a stage where the body burns fat for energy in place of carbs- is how dieters lose weight, and it’s not fast or easy. Achieving ketosis practically involves consuming a ketogenic diet containing about 80% fat, 15% protein, and 5% carbs. Because medical practitioners confirm that ketosis will help you lose weight fast, boost energy, and think better, it becomes alluring to try.

Here is the downside; transforming into ketosis normally takes up to 2 weeks, and is proven to come with some awful, flu-like side effects called the “keto flu”. Even if you cross the hurdle, going beyond your designated carb limit can boot you out of ketosis- causing you to start again. That’s where you’ll need a keto supplement. Keto supplements put the body into ketosis within a couple of days- even when you’ve been dieting on cookies.

Here are the top 2 keto supplements that are proven to work

Benefits of Using Keto Supplements

The narrow ingredient list and the confirmed potency of these ingredients mean that these supplements will do an awesome work of giving you the advantage of the keto diet even if you’re only using the product to experience the keto-like effect.

BHB salt

BHB or Beta-Hydroxybutyrate is a popular exogenous ketone that hunts down fat cells and metabolizes them. It’s the key ingredient in these supplements and it’s what sets it apart from pretenders.

Cayenne pepper extracts

Cayenne pepper extract, together with other thermogenic ingredients acts as a fuel injection for metabolism. They trigger the rate with which the body burns fats converting into energy.

Speedier weight loss

If you’re a keto conformist and already practicing ketosis, these supplements will aid a speedy burning of body fat.

And if you’re not on a keto diet, keto fast will apparently burn all the fat stored in a way that wouldn’t have been possible with an average dieting process. Nonetheless, you should exercise and maintain proper nutritional diet.

A leaner you

These supplements containing exogenous ketone, apart from helping you lose weight, also focus on the body’s natural fats to use as fuel. This includes getting rid of stubborn fat in places like the hips, waist, buttocks, and thighs.

If you’re able to stay on your keto diet, that’s great. However, most dieters find it too restrictive. Yet they would love to have a good share of the fat-burning property of keto. Let’s fast will help them achieve this.

It’s simpler

Staying actively on the keto diet implies that you’re continually looking for new recipes with the intention of staying aligned with your interest and boosting results. This requires time and effort. Time and effort not a lot of people have after getting home from a stressful day at work.

Natural Supplements

It is not among those weight loss supplements stuffed with fake ingredients that offer nothing good for the body. All ingredients in these supplements are natural, including the vegetable cellulose useful for making capsules.

Vegan-friendly

Here, the ingredient listing is minimal and purely focus on giving you the necessary dietary a tool to boost your weight loss efforts.

The narrow and focused ingredient list means that it doesn’t contain any animal product. This, of course, is critical to vegans and vegetarians.

Safe Keto Supplements:

There have been no cases of side effects of using exogenous ketones except for the chances of having a little case of keto flu if used persistently for a long time.

Although in a few cases, people who are not on a keto diet who use exogenous ketones regularly may also have a symptom of keto flu.

The symptoms may range from fatigue, headache, lack of sleep, troubled stomach, or indecisiveness. If you have any of the above symptoms, don’t be bothered. The symptoms will vanish. It’s only a sign that ketosis is commencing and you’ll soon start to burn fat.

Keto Advanced Weight Loss:

Keto Advanced contains a combination of ingredients that have been formulated to promote the weight loss of a person following a low carbohydrate diet or a ketogenic diet.

This dietary supplement is ideal for quickly crossing the ketosis course while boosting its energy rate daily. With Keto Advanced, your body will maintain its state of ketosis, even without the strict diet.

Advanced ketones in this Rapid Slim helps to lose up to 5 lbs in the first week.

These carrot cake bites are healthy, naturally sweetened, slightly chewy and loaded with the oats and dry fruits. Perfect for a snack on the go, breakfast and post workout snack.

The taste and flavor of the carrot are not overpowering in this recipe. It gives a mildly sweet and crunchy taste to the energy bites. Adding peanut butter gives a smooth cookie dough texture. You could replace the peanut butter with almond butter. If you like to make these energy bites nut free but still you like that soft doughy texture, you could use the sunflower seeds butter.

Dates are added for the sweetness I used the Medjool dates. My family is a huge fan of Medjool dates so I never tried out other dates option available in the market so far. The soft and naturally sweetened dates give a sweet taste with added health benefits compared to the other sweeteners. If you try other varieties of date please let me know in the comments I would love to know the other best dates varieties available in the market.

You could replace the dates with honey or maple syrup as well. Cashew nuts can be replaced with almonds or pecans.

I added only a quarter tsp of Cinnamon powder in these energy bites, you could up to half a tsp. Vanilla extract and nutmeg powder can also be added for the flavors.

How to make these vegan carrot cake bites?

Vegan carrot cake bites are easy to make with only 6 ingredients. My 8 years old son Aldrich loves these energy bites. I make these energy bites in a bulk and store in the refrigerator and enjoy all week long. It is perfect for snacking, breakfast on the go, picnics, healthy dessert, and potlucks.

Food processor or powerful blender is necessary to make these energy bites with the perfect texture. I used a Cuisine Art food processor that is perfect to make all types of energy and protein bars. It just blend the dry fruits perfectly with the other ingredients. Here are the few varieties of energy balls, I made with the Cuisine Art Food Processor. Oatmeal Peanut Butter Energy Balls, Date Nut Ladoo, and Chia Seed Energy Balls.

Egg and Sausage Casseroles are perfect for breakfast and brunch. It is an easy make-ahead breakfast casserole loaded with cheese, bacon, sausage, and peppers. This dish is an excellent breakfast option for the keto, low-carb, and paleo diets.

I love baking this casserole when I am hosting brunch at my home, just combine all the ingredients, then throw the dish in the oven and get back to other chores until it is finished baking. The casserole is a great way to sneak nutritious veggies and protein in the diet.

egg and sausage casserole

I usually prepare it ahead in the evenings and bake in the next mornings for breakfast. Even the baked casserole stays well in the refrigerator for up to 3 – 4 days. Heat the casserole in the microwave oven until warm through and serve.

The best part about this casserole is you do not need to serve any sides!! Just a piece of casserole and fresh berries are filling and satisfying.

Tips for baking best egg and Sausage casseroles:

Eggs are the base of this casserole!! Beating eggs with spices until fluffy is a key step for the smooth textured casserole. Cooking the veggies before layering in the baking dish is important. Once I layered the raw veggies in the baking dish and casserole turned out soggy. The water content from the veggies oozes out while baking and messed up the casserole.

I added paprika in the eggs for a flavor and kick, you can leave that out. Baking the casserole in a low – medium heat 350 or 375 degrees are perfect for the rightly baked eggs and cheese. Don’t rush the baking time by increasing the heat of the oven that burns the cheese and veggies.

Sausage Egg Casserole Hash Browns:

Sausage egg casserole hash browns are just similar to this recipe. Except layering hash browns to the bottom of the baking dish then layer the veggies on the top of the hash browns then pour the beaten egg mixture over the vegetables and top with shredded cheese and crumbled bacon. Bake in a pre-heated 375 degrees oven for 40 – 45 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center and comes out clean. Let stand 8 to 10 minutes before cutting into pieces.

Smart Cooking Tips:

  1. You can add mushrooms, spinach and green onions in this casserole.
  2. You can swap the sausage for ham or leave it out.
  3. You can leave out bacon too for a vegetarian option.

Have you ever had a Pineapple Dole Whip at Disneyland? Disney Dole Pineapple Whip is a delicious frozen treat, easy to make at home with only 4 ingredients and perfect for the summer bbq parties.

Weather is getting warmer here in Indy and time to relish some frozen treats, this frozen pineapple whip is perfect for any hot summer day. Mildly sweet, tart, creamy and loaded with the pineapple goodness and flavor. Pineapple whip is made with natural ingredients, comparatively healthier than any other store bought treats. Healthy, Gluten-Free and Vegan frozen treat without any artificial preservatives or colors, kids would love this frozen treat. To make it, even healthier replace the sugar with stevia or any natural low-calorie sweetener or the sweetness from pineapple is enough for your taste bud, you could skip adding the sweetener.

Disney Dole Pineapple Whip

What is Disney Dole Pineapple Whip?

Dole Pineapple whip is the Dole (Fruit and Vegetable) company’s product. However, Dole Pineapple Whip become popular after started serving in the Disney land. Caramel corn, dole pineapple whip, and mickey mouse ice cream bar are my favorite snacks in Disney Land. Disney Dole Pineapple Whip is a soft-serve frozen treat that is perfect for the hot weather while waiting in the queue for the rides.

What do you need to make Disney Dole Whip at home?

  • Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  • Coconut Milk or Almond Milk
  • Lemon Juice
  • Sugar (optional) depending on the sweetness of your pineapple
  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Serving Bowls and Spoons

Frozen pineapple chunks are easily available in many retailers. However, fresh pineapples are available all throughout the year. Especially, the pineapples that you get in the summer are more flavorful and sweet comparatively. My family loves pineapple, so I buy 3 – 4 pineapples at my local grocery store, cut them into smaller chunks and store them in a freezer for the delicious treats in the summer.

I used thick full fat coconut milk in this recipe, you could use almond milk as well. While blending add the coconut milk first in the blender jar then add the frozen pineapple chunks that help to blend without getting stuck. Though you may have to stop the blender in between and give a mix using a spatula for a creamy texture Pineapple whip. I used my Blendtec blender it did the best job for me!!

These Texas chili cheese fries are so delicious and perfect to pair with your game day spread, rightly seasoned McCain® Curly seasoned Potato Fries topped with ground beef chili and melted cheese are satisfying with every bite.

For the first time, I tasted Texas loaded chili cheese fries at my local restaurant and loved it. From then it becomes my favorite, whenever I eat outside I go for the chili cheese fries for an appetizer. For a long time, I wanted to try making it at home for my family but thinking of making fries from scratch has stopped me from doing it.

Where to Find McCain Fries?

I found McCain® Seasoned Curly Potato fries in my local Walmart grocery store in the frozen food aisle. There are other McCain® Fries varieties too however, I stick to these three, I have a little son who is obsessed with fun shape fries, McCain® Smiles® Mashed Potato Shapes, McCain® Seasoned Curly Fries Seasoned Potato Fries and McCain® Extra Crispy Crinkle Fries.

It is an easy appetizer for game day gatherings and weekend gatherings simple to make in just a few minutes. Prepare thick chili for this recipe instead of gravy. You could even prepare the chili ahead and store in the refrigerator. Warm the chili and layer on the baked fries before your guest arrives. Also, you can also join various pizza-making workshops that are run by visiting chefs.

In many ways, juicing seems the ultimate solution to living an active, healthy life which includes everything you need in your diet to stay super fit and well. It allows you to consume multiple fruits and vegetables in one sitting, gets to the heart of the raw fruit for maximum benefit, and bypasses the digestive system for easier absorption. Every fitness guru and Instagram model is urging you to rush out and purchase a new appliance, with hoards of best juicer reviews everywhere you look.

There is, however, a darker side to juicing which is so often neglected by these self-appointed gurus. These side-effects could have negative consequences for your health, so do your body a favor and explore the possible disadvantages of juicing.

Juice Contains A Lot Of Sugar

Though healthy, fruits contain a large amount of naturally occurring sugars, and many doctors and dieticians will advise patients to consider this when planning a healthy diet. In addition, juicing allows the sugar to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream, and this can result in a sudden sugar spike. These spikes can result in mood swings and variations in your energy levels.

An excess of sugar can also damage your liver. The naturally occurring sugar found in fruits is called fructose and can usually be absorbed and processed by the liver without too much trouble. In extremely high quantities, however, the organ begins to struggle and can turn this sugar into liver fat. The results of this can be catastrophic, including heart disease and liver damage.

Juice Lacks Protein

Protein is a crucial part of our diets, helping us to build and maintain muscle, as well as helping the body to repair and restore tissues, hormones, enzymes, and other essential chemicals in the body. If it is missing, your body will attempt to rectify this by drawing protein from the muscles, and this can cause issues with your metabolic rate. Not only does this render weight loss and muscle building effectively inefficient, but it also has potentially serious repercussions long term.

Juicing Can Lead To Calorie Deficiency

A juice diet is usually lower in calories than eating normally, and this can result in a vast calorie deficiency. This impact can cause the body to go into starvation mode, which comes with risks and dangers. A starvation diet puts extra stress on all areas of the body, including vital organs, and elevates levels of cortisol—the stress hormone. This can put a physical and mental strain on the body and could have devastating effects.

Raw Juice Can Change The Ph Of Your Stomach

Our bodies were designed to eat food, not drink it. Using juicing as a method of meal replacement alters the pH levels of the intestines and stomach, and can result in a host of unwanted health issues such as gallstones, leaky gut, IBS, ulcers, and trouble digesting regular foods which can be difficult to rectify at a later date.

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias #ConsumerDrugTakeBack #LifeInCheck

April 27th, 2019, Saturday is a National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. I am grateful for this opportunity to foster awareness about an opioid crisis to keep our loved ones and community safe by disposing of unused medicines properly.

According to Drug Abuse.gov, 18 million people in the U.S. over the age of 12 have misused medications at least once in the past year. According to CDC.gov, 192 Americans die every day from a drug overdose.

As a mom, I look to minimize the risk at home in all possible ways. Storing the medications safely from little ones is challenging at times. Little kids are curious to the colorful capsules and they try to imitate parents. I store the medications on the top shelves that are secured with a child lock. However, I never cared about properly disposing of medications until I become a witness in my own family.

Last year, in April, while I was busy cleaning the home for my son’s birthday party. I found a few expired medications on the shelves and sorting out the one that goes to the trash. In between, I heard my phone ringing and got to attend the call. My curious little buddy stuffed his mouth with a hand full of capsules.

I could manage to take out some of the capsules from his mouth though some passed into his stomach. Immediately I reached out a poison control and fortunately, the help arrived on time and my son was treated immediately. I never ever forget that moment in my life. It was the scariest moment that happened in my life so far. After this incident, I started disposing of the expired and unused medications promptly.

Drug Disposal Receptacle

A safe way to dispose of unused medications:

Initially, I started disposing of the unused medications, by flushing down in the toilet or throwing in the garbage. Recently, I came to know that these forms of disposing medications create damage to our environment. According to the Associated Press, 46 million Americans are exposed to trace amounts of medications in their drinking water.

There are many things that I cannot do to protect the environment. Those things are out of my hands but this simple thing I could do. LifeInCheck created a Consumer Drug Take-Back program that provides consumers with a safe option to discard their unused or outdated prescription medications in secure receptacles located across the US.

The LifeInCheck Consumer Drug Take-Back receptacle that I visited at St. Vincent Mercy is the closest location for me to dispose of the unused medications.

how to safely dispose of unused medicines

You could check your closest location that carries LifeInCheck Consumer Drug Take-Back receptacle here

This LifeInCheck Consumer Drug Take-Back Program Locator Tool is simple to find your closest locations that contains drug disposal receptacle. You could drop the outdated medications in the receptacle.

How to Use the Drug Disposal Receptacle:

  • Pull to open drawer
  • Place medications inside
  • Close the drawer

The drug disposal receptacle is easy and safe to dispose of unused medications. Once you place medications inside and close the drawer, no one could open the drawer.

Outdated or unused medications don’t need to sit around in your cabinets. Be sure to dispose them safely in a LifeInCheck receptacle without impacting surroundings and environment. And if you’ve personally witnessed the opioid crisis, feel free to share here. Sharing your stories helps to foster awareness and prevention.

In a bowl, combine Franks red hot sauce, melted butter, paprika, ranch dressing , garlic powder, salt, shredded chicken and mix well. Buffalo chicken filling is ready now.

Slice the Hawaiian rolls into half, place the buffalo filling, spread blue cheese, place the other half of the Hawaiian rolls, apply butter on the top and bake in a pre-heated 375 degrees oven for 15 minutes and serve.

Smart Cooking Tips:

  1. You could choose your favorite fillings like boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, Aloo (potato) masala just like a sandwich stuffing. Many of the sandwich stuffing works best for this recipe.

Easy Party Appetizer:

Chicken sliders are the best party appetizer for all season. It is great for the summer deck parties, pool parties, office potlucks, game day parties, and birthday parties. You could prepare the stuffing a day before the party and store in the refrigerator. Bake just before your guest arrives and serve hot. You could even bake the sliders ahead and slightly warm in the oven for a few minutes before serving.

One pack of Hawaiian rolls yield 12 fluffy rolls, so you could bake this chicken sliders for the parties without much hassle. If you have leftover grilled chicken or veggies or meat, you could quickly toss into the Hawaiian rolls and bake for a filling meal for your family.

Potato capsicum fry (Aloo Shimla Mirch) is a spicy and flavorful side dish in just 30 minutes. Soft cooked potato with spices and the flavor from bell peppers makes a delicious side dish.

Aloo Shimla Mirch:

Potato capsicum fry is known as aloo shimla mirch. It is a delicious side dish that goes well with roti or any rice varieties. This recipe is similar to the South Indian Style Potato Fry recipe with added bell pepper flavor. Bell peppers are my favorite veggie that I add in many dishes like omelets, sambar, fried rice, and curries. I just love that unique bell pepper flavor.

It is a dry side dish if you would like to make in the gravy consistency, add cumin seeds, chopped onion to the oil and saute until golden brown. Add cubed potatoes then add the spices like turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and little amount of water. Cook until the potatoes roasted slightly. Add diced capsicum, cover and cook until the potatoes become soft. Add lemon juice, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Smart Cooking Tips:

  1. Keep stirring often to avoid the potatoes getting burned and sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  2. You could use other varieties of bell peppers like red, yellow, orange bell pepper or mixed of all.
  3. Traditionally, mango powder is added to this recipe. I just added the lemon juice instead of mango powder for the mild tangy taste.

Potato Capsicum Beans Fry:

Potato capsicum beans fry (aloo capsicum beans fry) is similar to the recipe except add the chopped beans with potato and cook together until the potatoes becomes soft. Then add capsicum and cook until the capsicum becomes slightly soft. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Healthy Hard Boiled Egg Salad Sandwich:

Hard boiled egg salad sandwich is loaded with protein and easy to make in few minutes. To making it, even more, healthier, replace the mayonnaise with mashed avocado or greek yogurt. I love Avocado Boiled Egg salad sandwich much compared to the greek yogurt version. Using whole grain bread instead of white bread is a great option for the healthier sandwich.

hard boiled eggs

Smart Cooking Tips:

  1. You could add any of your favorite seasonings like red chili flakes, curry powder, dried herbs in the egg salad.
  2. You could replace the mayonnaise with the greek yogurt or mashed avocado for a healthier version.
  3. Grilling the sandwich is optional. Personally, I prefer slightly crispy bread in the sandwich.

Tips to pack sandwich in the lunch box:

I get lots of queries from mommies, how to pack a sandwich in the lunch box without getting soggy? Here are the few tips that works for me:

  1. Choose thicker varieties of bread slices like oat nut or wheat bread.
  2. Applying generous of butter on the side facing the stuffing helps to protect the bread from getting soggy.
  3. Pack the veggies like tomato, lettuce, and cucumber separately and assembling the sandwich before eating is a great option.

Milk plays an important role in my everyday life. It is a part of my family’s everyday meal. Here are my few beautiful real moments with milk.

At our home, we start our day early with a cup of hot coffee with milk. Though we have lots of work to do in the morning like getting ready to work, pack lunch, and getting my son to school. Me and my husband enjoy our coffee time 5 – 10 mins in the morning peacefully. It just boosts our energy and makes us feel fresh in the morning. It is our favorite part in the early morning. It’s been 10 years now we are together and we never missed our early morning coffee time.

We love coffee with milk compared to the plain coffee. Because milk adds nutritional value like Calcium and Vitamin D compare to the plain coffee.

During the festival season or any special occasions, we make a vermicelli milk pudding (payasam) at home. From kids to everyone enjoys the milk pudding. It tastes so creamy and delicious. In our tradition, there is no wedding meal without a vermicelli milk pudding. The wedding meal starts with an appetizer and end with the milk pudding as a dessert.

My son Aldrich loves milkshakes and he drinks a milkshake for an after-school snack. It provides Calcium, Vitamin D and Potassium needed to the growing kids for strong bones and teeth. What else a mom needs, milk blended with fruits or dry fruits for a healthy and easy snack for the little one?! Sometimes he carries the store bought chocolate milk with him for an after-school program. Milk has the nutrition that’s hard to find in other foods and beverages.

I born and brought up in a community where people makes varieties of sweet using the milk. During my childhood, mom used to make lots of milk sweets like Carrot Kheer, Basundi (Condensed milk flavored with dry fruits and cardamom), Kalakand (milk cake) during the festival season. There are no special occasions without milk sweets.

Next, here comes the summer holidays, mango kulfi (mango ice cream) is the must delicacy at our home. We enjoy mango kulfi all through the summer. After spending lots of time outside in the hot summer we love to enjoy the chilled and delicious mango kulfi.

Finally, one such beautiful memory with milk is my mom serves us the saffron, dry fruits and cardamom infused milk every night during winter before bedtime that helps to keep our system warm. Watching our family’s favorite show on the TV and sipping a cup of warm saffron milk in the cold winter night is bliss.

Milk is default in my grocery list and I stock up 2 large cans of milk regularly in my fridge. Real dairy milk is wholesome, simple and affordable. I make cottage cheese (paneer) and yogurt at home regularly for our everyday use. Homemade yogurt and cottage cheese tastes so fresh and delicious.

These are my beautiful moments with milk, please share your real moments with milk too on Instagram with the hashtags #LoveWhatsReal and #Sweepstakes and a picture must include milk. Can’t wait to read yours!! A sweet deal here for you, Milk. Love What’s Real Sweepstakes runs on Jan 22, 2019, to February 28, 2019. Enter sweepstakes to win A year’s worth of free milk!! Keto chia pudding is a healthy, creamy and delicious breakfast. It is also an excellent dessert option for a keto diet.

Recipes using coconut milk:

Coconut milk adds an excellent flavor and texture to the curries, soups, desserts, and pudding. It is an excellent alternative to the diary and other plant-based milk products. Great option for the gluten-free, vegan, lactose-free, paleo and keto diet.

I am a big fan of coconut milk and I use regularly in my cooking. Egg drop curry, Spinach pulao, Low-carb shrimp soup and quinoa chicken pulao are my favorite recipes using coconut milk.

I use Thai Kitchen Coconut Milk in my recipes. The reason why I prefer Thai Kitchen Coconut Milk is, it tastes mild and fresh without any preservatives or artificial flavors or colors. The texture of the Thai Kitchen Coconut Milk is so amazing. It is thick and creamy similar to the whole milk. It is not only good for making Thai delicacies but also gives a wonderful flavor to the other cuisine dishes.

I bought Thai kitchen coconut milk at my local grocery store, Meijer in the International Asian food aisle.

You could check out Thai Kitchen Coconut Milk at Amazon too.

Thai Kitchen coconut milk contains only three simple ingredients: coconut milk, water, and guar gum (for added creaminess). Note that guar gum is just a natural thickener made from a plant (guar bean). No preservatives or artificial colors or flavors.

Smart cooking Tips:

  1. Use thick coconut milk for a creamy and delicious pudding.
  2. You could add any of your favorite toppings like shredded coconut, chocolate chips and your choice of fruits.

Spicy egg roast is an easy and spicy dish that is flavored with spices and roasted. It serves as a side dish, snack or post-workout snack or an appetizer.

Recipes Using Hard Boiled Eggs:

Hard-boiled eggs are great for the Keto, Paleo and Low-carb diet. They are a good source of protein, low in calorie and loaded with goodness at a reasonable cost. I love them to eat at any time of the day as a healthy snack, breakfast or lunch. However, I hate the peeling part and here I found the Great Day Farms Peeled & Ready to Eat Hard Boiled eggs at Walmart in Deli section.

Great Day Farms Hard Boiled Eggs

Don’t forget to check out the sweet offer on earning cash back with Ibotta!! Earn $.25 off on the 2-packs and $.50 off on the 6-packs when you buy them at Walmart.

Hard Boiled Eggs

What a time saver!! No boiling or peeling the eggs are required. The perfectly cooked yolks are perfect for the recipes using hard boiled eggs like avocado deviled eggs, egg curry, egg fritters, egg keema, and egg pepper fry.

I just purchased 6 packs hard boiled eggs from Walmart and prepared these spicy egg roast in just 5 to 10 minutes without much effort for an evening snack and enjoyed it with a cup of ginger tea. Who doesn’t love to eat a hot and spicy snack on the cold and snowy evening?! In South India, it is also known as Egg Tawa Fry (Pan Roasted Eggs).

Smart Cooking Tips:

  1. You could add any of your favorite spices like garam masala and black pepper powder.
  2. Make sure to cook the spices over low heat to avoid burning it.

Pulkha Roti

Pulkha Roti is an easy and simple Indian food recipe to make at home in 30 mins. Pulkha Roti’s (Chapatis) with curry is an ideal food in many Indian households.

wheat flour

How to make Pulkha Roti?

Making pulkha roti at home is easy and simple. Soft chapati depends on the chapati dough. I have seen many people use ghee, milk, and butter while kneading a dough for the soft chapati. But I never used any extra ingredients like milk or butter, just the wheat flour, and water for making chapati dough. I always keep the dough covered for at least 20 minutes before start rolling chapatis. My mom makes layered chapatis, but personally, I feel it is heavy and high in calories compared to Roti’s. Because she adds oil for making layered chapati, apart from calories it tastes yum.

chapati dough

Smart Cooking Tips for Pulkha Roti:

  1. Add water slowly and knead a soft dough. If you are adding more water, it will become difficult to knead a dough.
  2. Make sure to cover and set the dough for at least 20 minutes, before making Rotis. It will help to make a soft chapati.
  3. Cook the roti in a high flame without burning. Burned Roti’s taste bitter.
  4. Chapatis cook faster, so avoid leaving it unattended for a long time.

puffed rotis

How to make puffed Roti?

Puffed Roti is made by cooking roti in a direct flame, but I have electric stove top at my home, so I make it using a skillet or pan.

Though it puffs perfectly like the one in a direct flame. As I said before I cover the chapati dough and set for at least 20 minutes before start rolling chapati and I roll it into a single thin layer roti and cook it on a high flame.

Gluten-Free Atta Flour:

If you are following gluten-free diet and wants to enjoy roti for your dinner, you should try this Metta Gluten-Free Atta Flour. This gluten-free flour was created by a mom for his son who was diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity. Undoubtedly we all know that moms create best for their children. Likewise after years of experimentation, she created this flour nutritious, great tasting and allergen friendly option for many people who have gluten issues. It is blend of ancient grains like sorghum, teff and groud flaxseed, which are rich in protien and nutrition. Metta atta meets FDA gluten-free standards, produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility in the USA, all the ingredients are non-GMO, and it is corn and soy free.

Metta gluten-free atta is great for preparing rotis, chapattis, tortillas, parathas, puris and samosas. Check out these videos for making dough and  rotis.

Peanut butter and jelly cookies are the delicious and gluten-free cookies. It is simple to bake at home with only 5 ingredients.

Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly Cookies:

Peanut butter and grape jelly cookies recipe is similar to this recipe. Replace the fruit jam with grape jelly. You could use any flavor of jam of your choice. Personally, I love raspberry fruit jam so I used as a filling. Peanut butter and jelly are made for each other. Together they both tastes amazing.

Low Carb and Keto Cookie Recipe:

Peanut butter is low in carbs, high in fat and rich in protein. Though peanut butter is low in carb, make sure to consume the recommended quantity 2 to 3 tbsp to avoid calorie spike and ended up in gaining weight.

You could replace the low carb sweetener like stevia. Stevia is a natural plant-based sweetener much sweeter than the granulated white sugar, 1 cup of white sugar is replaced with only 1/2 teaspoon of stevia powder and 1 teaspoon of liquid stevia extract.

Smart Cooking Tips:

  1. Avoid over baking the cookies, 10 – 11 minutes are enough. Initially, the cookies are soft and gooey after cooled down it becomes firm.
  1. The cookies flatten and expand during baking, so you don’t need to flatten the dough. Just roll and arrange on the baking tray.

These cookies are a great treat for the holiday season. Pretty red color jam or fruit spread on the cookies look more festive. It is an excellent recipe to bake with your kids during holidays. I roll the dough into small balls and my son loves to make a thumbprint on the dough and fill it with jam.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies Gluten Free Cookies:

These cookies are delicious gluten-free cookies. If you want to bake gluten-free cookie for yourself or for your loved ones I would suggest you to try baking these cookies. These cookies taste soft and fudgy with the peanut butter goodness and fruit jam sweet taste. I adopted this recipe from FoodNetwork.Check out the other gluten-free cookies recipes, Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies, and Banana Oatmeal Cookies.

Easy Lunch Box Recipe:

These stuffed potato crescent rolls are an excellent lunch box recipe for the kids. You can use your own creative ideas on the stuffing, the sky is the limit. I use simple sliced boiled egg as a stuffing for my son’s lunch box when I am running out of the time. It is easy for the kids to have on the short lunch break without making a mess.

I prepare the potato filling on the evening and store in the refrigerator. Next day morning just stuff the crescent rolls and bake for the lunch box.

potato stuffing

These three are my favorite stuffing so far, leftover chicken and veggies also work best!!

cheesy potato rolls

My favorite Stuffing for the Crescent Rolls:

  1. Cream cheese spinach stuffing: It serves as a delicious breakfast, cream cheese mixed with the spinach, garlic powder, sour cream, salt, and pepper.

  2. Cheesy scrambled egg stuffing: Scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese are the healthy and protein-packed stuffing. It serves as an excellent breakfast, brunch or lunch.

  3. Nutella stuffing: Who doesn’t love Nutella? Nutella spread on the crescent dough rolled and baked for a delicious stuffing. It tastes just like a dessert.

potato rolls

You could able to find the crescent rolls in every other retailer shop, in the refrigerator section. It is available in different flavors, like cinnamon roll crescent, sweet Hawaiian crescent rolls, honey butter crescent rolls,… I used the regular buttery crescent rolls for this recipe. Scrambled egg breakfast cups are the cute and delicious breakfast recipe using the crescent rolls.
