How to make ice cream without ice cream maker?

You can make creamy and delicious ice creams at home without ice cream machine. Using the heavy cream is important for a creamy and smooth ice creams. The fat from the heavy cream helps to provide the smooth texture to the ice cream. You can make your favorite ice cream at home by adding different flavors like fruit purees, vanilla extract, nuts, and cocoa powder. I made my favorite mango ice cream at home by adding fresh mango puree to the cream.

1. Wash, peel and deseed the mango. Blend the mango flesh and sugar together to a smooth puree.

2. In a wide bowl add heavy whipping cream, mango puree, vanilla extract and blend until the cream becomes thick and fluffy using an electric hand mixer. Freeze for 3 hours and take out the ice cream from freezer and blend again using an electric hand mixer until smooth and again freeze for at least six hours and serve.

Smart Cooking Tips:

1. Use sweetened ripe mangoes in this recipe, it gives sweetness and flavor naturally to the ice cream. You can also use store bought mango puree or frozen mangoes instead of fresh mangoes.

2. If you found difficult to blend the mangoes to a smooth puree add little amount of whole milk and blend.

3. Add sugar according to your taste.

4. Make sure to use the freezer safe bowl to freeze the ice cream. Freeze the ice cream for at least six hours before serving.

Ice cream using a Blendtec?

You can make soft and creamy ice creams using a Blendtec in just a few minutes with frozen fruits like banana, strawberries, and peaches. I tried my favorite mango ice cream in the Blendtec. Mango ice cream recipe includes fresh mangoes and heavy cream. Traditionally, this recipe is made in an ice cream machine by whipping the cream for a longer time, and it is a lengthy process. Blendtec has the pre-built ice cream option, that blends the cream and fruits to a smooth texture in just a few seconds, and I freeze the mango and cream mixture in the freezer for 6 – 8 hours for a beautiful and thick ice cream.

Often you can get a better deal for the refurbished Blendtec from the Blendtec company itself. Check out for the refurbished Blendtec.

If you use blender more than twice in a week, consider buying a high power blender like Blendtec that makes your life easier. You can make smoothies, batters for pancake and muffins, sauces, soups, desserts and dips in just a few seconds. I use Blendtec at least twice in a day for grinding batters for dosa (pancake), Chutney (sauce for dosa and rice), dry spice powders and thick smoothies with fresh fruits and vegetables.

You can buy Blendtec now from here. Check out the different Blendtec models with its price range here.
